I'm a conservative who is very disappointed with my republican counterparts and the direction they've taken this country as far as fiscal irresponsibility.
I'd like to get a true conservative into office, who represents the people, not special interest groups or big business. That will NOT be a democrat.
It's time to get the GOP back on track.

Winston Churchill said: "If you are not a liberal by the time you are 21, you don't have a heart. If you are not a conservative by the time you are 40, you don't have a brain." Liberalism may sound good to the uneducated, but as you get life experiences you can see that conservatism works.
I am a conservative. My political philosophy was cemented about six years ago. I added up all of my federal, state and local taxes and found that it was over 50% of my income. "Enough" said I.
Not all Republicans are conservative. Senator Arlen Specter is the best example of that. No all Democrats are liberal. Although the extreme left wing of the Democrat party has taken over.

A Liberal is someone open to the ideas and voice of others without judgment. I have seem Americans who call themselves "liberal" (this fits most liberals by the way) : based on their unwavering assertion that if you don't agree with them and what they say then you are a bigot or a fanatic, It would seem that most of America's so called "Liberals" are indeed, a new form of bigot.
So if you are open to other cultures and lifestyles, have no problem with other people believing what they wish and you follow your own thoughts, then you are a TRUE Liberal. If you also believe in Honor, strength of character, helping those who are in need, and fail to judge others until you know the truth, then you may also be a conservative.

A big part of the problem is how the Parties, and the ideologies, (con. or lib.) are portrayed in the media. On a daily basis, you get shoved down your throat how, to be a conservative, you must be a pawn of the religous right. To be a liberal, you have to hate big bisiness, hate Bush, hate the war, yak, yak, yak, yak. It's the press doing this, not the people. All I can tell you is; if you don't know who to believe, then don't believe anybody.

That is the problem with labels! It is wrong (And illegal to discriminate against them for it) to judge anyone by a group they belong to or associate with.
I am what many call a far-left Liberal. I am in some aspects yet in others I am more conservative. As to
Non-Judgmental= Democrat
Progressive Thinking=Democrat (And an occasional Republican)
Morally Conservative? One would think Republican if you listen to how they describe themselves but their actions speak differently. It is not moral to torture people for ANY reason. It is not moral to hate anyone (Even if they are a sinner in your book ie. Gays and Freedom of Choice providers. It is not moral to hate immigrants. We were all immigrants in this country at one time. The only reason they are being attacked is because the Administration wants a fall-guy that will divert attention from the White House and its actions and what is happening with the "War" on terrorism in Iraq! It is not moral to lie, cheat and steal for any reason. Do some research into charges pending against members of Congress and convictions in the past 10 years. (Although Democrats are represented in this group, the GOP and Republicans win the contest hands-down!) Not to mention the huge set of lies that led us to attack a country as retribution for 9/11 when they had nothing to do with it!
It is not moral to kill people for no reason. We have killed Iraqis who were "Collateral Damage" in the "War on Terror" even though they never attacked us, and were never an Al Qaeda training center until we attacked them. Saddam hated Al Qaeda, and kept them out of the country.
I am not saying the Democrats are perfect but if you want to be with a group of "moral" people, you need to look at their actions, not their words. By the "Conservatives" actions, the only thing they seem to value is money. Lives are not valued, not our soldiers or anyone else killed in the quest of money (In the form of no-bid contracts for Republicans [Ever notice all the no-bid contracts went to Conservative companies?]). Our Constitution and our rights are not valued. Good ethics are not valued (See any decent ethics reform passed while Republicans were in control?) Even the vows the highest representative in our country take are not valued (Gonzales, Bush, Cheney etc...).
The administration will not let its people testify under oath because they plan on lying. All documentation of illegal and/or immoral acts are either "Executive Privilege or destroyed by accident (E-mails) or lost. They are unethical and immoral in my book.
So tell me do you still want to be associated with this party? Do not say it is just Bush and Cheney because the GOP and every Republican rubber-stamped everything Bush did.
As you can See I carried on the "all over the place" theme of your question! :)

You can be socially conservative and economically liberal with a mix in foreign policy. The easy way to choose a side is to find out your hot button issues. Those are issues you will not compromise on and are willing to give up other views to elect a leader that sees eye to eye with you on you hot button issues. The you will know what side your on.

Since JFK, the democrats have fed the voters of America a strictly liberal diet which is why only two have held the top job since LBJ left office (Carter &Clinton). Like it or not, if you vote democrat, you are voting for a liberal and therefore identify yourself as such by virtue of that vote.

What you are and how you vote are two different things. But keep in mind rebulicans aim their campaigns towards conservatives and democrats towards liberals. As for me I am conservative, but because the shitty job Bush is doing I am going to vote Democrat.

You are a moderate like most Americans are. You have moral values but they don't overshadow your judgment enough to make you vote for someone who will do things to jeopardize your lifestyle.
Vote for Hillary: She is a moderate.
