I was just wondering how many naps in the day my 7 month old should be having? He generally gets up about 6.30am then has about 1-1 1/2 hours at 9 am then about an hour or so at one then 30 mins at 5pm and goes to bed at 8pm is this about right or is he sleeping too much in the day?

The amount of time is right. I think you should just combine the evening naps into one. My boys are 8 mos. now, they have and 11/2 hr. in the AM and 2 hrs. in the PM. You want to start to encourage him to stay awake longer tho so you want to start planning moving/shortening his morning nap as necessary to accomplish this. My 2 year old was/has a 2hr nap in the afternoon from when she was around one which is about the normal age to reduce naps from 2 to 1.

No, this sounds fine for his age. All babies are different, with some sleeping through for 12 hours and have two three hours naps a day - whereas others are up half the night and catch 5 minutes cat naps! I find that the morning nap gets later and later until they eventually only have one afternoon nap per day. If he is sleeping through the night, then he's doing just fine. Enjoy the break!

Sounds right to me. Coming from a person whose son is a good sleeper and always has been, take advantage of this. Once the naps end, then it's all kid all the time with hardly a break.

My son is almost 3 and he sleeps 10 hours at night and anywhere from 2 to 3 hours once a day in the early afternoon.

Every baby is so different - and this seems fine.
Enjoy that break in the morning - and when he turns 12 + months his nap should increase but as one nice nap -
he'll cut out that 30 minutes at night nap soon - as he gets more active - but it sounds fine - every baby differs and needs more sleep - If it works for you it's fine.

You did no longer point out something approximately her weight loss application or in case you have tried adjusting that. you would be bowled over at how changing a weight loss application can substitute their on an commonly used basis recurring. seem at what she's eating by way of out the day. i be attentive to she's basically 7 months and if she customarily beverages formula, perhaps it is not agreeing together with her. My son had to be on Neutramagin...it incredibly is a partly digested formula...b/c his tummy replaced into so gentle and he acted colicky and does no longer nap. while we switched him, he replaced into greater useful. Ask the record! stable success;)

Let your baby nap when he wants to. I just put my 8 month old daughter down for a nap when she looks tired, rubbing her eyes, etc. She still sleeps fine of a night.

If he seems alert and happy most of the time he is awake (most babies get cranky before they fall asleep, of course), then he is fine. There is wide variation in the amount of sleep people need at any age. If he seems lethargic all the time, see your doctor, but I think he is fine-and you are lucky to get as much rest as well!

It is probably "right" for him. Some children take one and one half to two hours in the morning and the same in the afternoon. He has adjusted to what he needs.
