I don't know for sure. But I would lean towards a limited draft. Maybe like the lottery kind of draft they had before the draft was ended.
We are at war (conflict, really) with a country the size of Rhode Island. We have been there longer then it took us in WW ll. Our military is worn out with all the tours they've had to do.
Nobody should be exempt from it either! The rich and the influential shouldn't get a free pass. ;-)

When you turned 18 you should have filed your selective service card. If there is a draft they will try to fit you into your selected service. And I doubt there will be a draft anytime soon;. Now America can initiate a limited draft before they think global war is going to start (think vietnam). Or they could wait until the number of forces in the militray at the time cannot handle the escalating condition before initiating a draft. But as for world war 3 happening that is unlikely. And the chances of a draft slim to none. The amount of people in the military right now is pretty high, and the sheer force our military compared to many other countries is up there. Think how long it took us to destabalize the government in Iraq. But yeah to get back to your question. They wont need a draft unless the amount of people in the military at the time is insufficient.

I do not think that there will be any world war of the magnitude of WW-1 or WW-2.
There may be small-scale wars of the type of US-Iraq war, etc, if at all. The world is moving towards peace, though it is not apparent. All the nuclear weapons made by countries will be disposed of by themselves only. The larger the amount of nuclear weapons a country has, the greater the burden is on it.

No - Bush and Co, probably already desgined the whole plan for a world war. Bush think they will win as he believes, that he is a messenger from God. What happens here is exactly what happened in the old Hitler Germany. The difference is that Bush has never had a normal functional brain.
Bush is extremely dangerous. He now has so much influence, money and power, that no matter who get selected as the next president, Bush will still be able to provoke a world war.
Unless of course that Bush is executed for high treason against his own country.

The balance of power, weighs heavily in favor of the US.
By building up an army through the draft, you are sending a signal to the rest of the world, that they should heavily rearm them selves.
I believe this is the best way to insure that there will be a world war.
NO to the draft.

Probably so, because unfortunately I believe the next global conflict will be nuclear in nature.
If that is the case, however, the draft is irrelevant either way.

No, it is not better to have a draft "before the world war". Who is the US supposed to "defend itself" against anyway? "Too late..."

such wanton paranoia, but i do hope your country starts a draft, starting with senators children first, then people with an income over 250 000 since they are getting the most out of your country, they should be the first to go. the last to be drafted should be the working poor, immigrants, and people on the dole. the wars will end when American interference and imperialism end, making the next world war something that would not happen. one thinks back to America overthrowing the Democratically elected leader of Iran , for the oil companies, replacing him with a dictator, paving the way for theocracy. America we do not need you, or your anti democratic ways or your wars.
let the rich kids serve first.

It's better for America to become the kind of country it's citizens want to fight for. Then you won't need a draft. You remember what this was like, before a fundamentalist conservative christian government.

You start a draft and you'll have people flee to fight for other countries in an effort to liberate America from the people like you whove taken her over.
