I think that it is a great game but if you already own Madden 07 it is not worth it. There are only a few changes (Hit stick 2.0, New abilities, and the super sim mode.) If you own 07 than i would wait another year or 2 and get 09 which undoubtedly will have more minor improvements
Also you could rent it from Blockbuster or whatever and see if you like it enough to spend 50$ on it.

Not every one has or can afforded the next gen consoles yet. I myself don't have a PS3 or a 360 b/c i just prefer my PC but every one has a PS2. And while Madden '08 might look better on the newer systems the Xbox and PS2 versions are more "Polished" by that i mean there are more feature and the game play is a bit better and that's due to the fact that...well they have had a long time to get it right as whit the newer systems EA and other developers are still learning what they can get out of the new systems. So if all you've got is a PS2 then yes go get the PS2 version.

I just got yesterday,its better than 07,its worth going to get it,the new features are good and the soundtrack is also good
