My husband and I have ran into this too. I totally don't get why you would want to bring your baby with you to a movie. And here's a clue, if you can't afford a babysitter, then maybe you can't afford to go to the movies?!?! And CERTAINLY you shouldn't be ruining my enjoyment of the movie! Movies aren't cheap, by the time you buy some drinks, popcorn and two tickets you can easily fork out $40 for a night time movie. If I pay $40 to spend a night out at the movies with my hubby, I definitely espect to be able to enjoy the movie in peace instead of missing half the words and being distracted because someone's baby is crying.
Have you ever noticed that most people who bring babies to movies don't have enough common sense to even take the baby out of the theater when it's crying to calm it down? I don't care if YOU miss a few minutes of the movie, it was YOUR decision to bring a baby, but stop ruining MY night as bringing a baby to a movie was not MY decision!
(Can you tell you touched on one of my biggest pet peeves about going to the movies recently? Some people have no respect for others.)

Yes. Especially when it is late in the evening and it is past their baby's sleep time. If it was during the day when there is hardly anyone around in the theater during the afternoons, it would be okay for the baby to be with them. It also has to be an appropriate movie, because some movie sounds can go beyond 15 decibels, which is harmful to a baby's ears.
Cellphones on the other hand should be left in the vehicle in the glove compartment, or at least turned off and in the purse or pocket. And horse playing and talking patrons should be escorted out of the movie theater by the ushers.

Totally!
People should only be allowed to bring in babies and young children before 12 noon after all in my local cinema unders 18s arnt allowed in after 10pm so shouldnt a similar rule apply to babies and young children therfore if people feel complied to bring in their young ones they can do so at a time when people know that there is a likelyhood that children will be there and then people who dont like them can avoid them by going at a different time.
It may also show them how annoying their children can be as they will have to put up with other peoples babies at the same time.

it relies upon on the age of the youngster/infant.. if the determine/s plan on bringing alongside their infant that is definitely their accountability to maintain them quiet and behaved i wouldnt ideas it at a driveinn cuz its no longer the comparable, on the different hand contained in the theatre a time like that could desire to be shared between adults like a date and a evening out faraway from the toddlers no longer taking them with them. some ppl do it cuz they dnt 0.5 to pay for toddlers below the age of two so then there isnt a want for a sitter i additionally locate it bizzare once I see ppl w their 4+yrsup in a rated r action picture with nudity and violence n young ones eyes glude to the computer screen noone will understand each and every n each and every determine reasons on y they do the flaws they do

Hell yeah that annoys the crap out of me. I went to see Transformers also and there was a baby in there , and it was being kinda loud. I wouldn't even bring my 3yr old with me, my 7yr old son goes with me, I wouldn't imagine bringing a baby. Some theaters have baby rooms where its a little room inside the theater and it has glass so the parents can see ,but it's sound proof and it has speakers so they can hear but noone can hear them, those are good to have.

Drives me crazy, why would you take a baby. Purely just selfish parents, when will these people realisle not all of us want to be subjected to their baby crying, I personally would have told them. Besides all that their relationship must be awful if they drag baby with them all the time.

Hi I've never been in this situation, but I would have been annoyed enough to complain. Cinemas aren't the place for babies and I would say they shouldn't be allowed in.

Hasnt happened to me, but would find it annoying at a regular showing. Odeon chain has special 'newbies' screenings of current films for parents with babies.

Never seen it. You can get special screenings for mums with babys who want to watch a film though I think only in London.
