Long Answer: Afraid of how the world may judge their imperfections, perfectionists are shysters forever self-imprisoned in their Ego shells. Perfectionist self-expectations can interfere with individuals' freedom to leave their mark upon the world. The combined effects of their perfectionism and their recognition that they are imperfect individuals impede perfectionists' capacity to feel psychologically secure about themselves. Individuals who are excessively perfectionist waste much time waiting for the impossible and illusory moment at which they expect that the paint of their mental chambers will have dried, in other words, that the contents of their mental chambers will, having reached perfection, give them the security to freely expose themselves in front of the world.

The main problem that impedes the individual freedom of persons who are excessively perfectionist is that unexposed "paint" can "dry" only after the growing pains have ceased and perfection has been reached, but reaching individual perfection is not psychologically possible. Individuals experience growing pains until their death, and cannot ever reach the sought for perfection that would permit them to obtain optimal psychological security to freely share themselves with others. So, individuals who expect themselves to become perfect before they feel sufficiently confident to fully share themselves with others, or in other words, individuals whose psychological security depends on their approximation to perfection, cannot ever unleash themselves upon the world.

Paradoxically, individuals who are not perfectionists are more psychologically equipped to approximate perfection than individuals who are perfectionists. Ultimately, perfectionists cannot develop the psychological security that they need to feel free to be themselves until they accept themselves for the imperfect individuals that they actually are, and cease to be perfectionists. Only after they remove the leash held by the stubborn perfectionism that silences their individual expression, and dominates and enslaves their timid minds, individuals can boldly and freely participate, interact, and share themselves with the world, and leave their unique and creative mark upon it. Therefore, only after individuals overcome the excesses of their perfectionism, and expose their goods fearlessly to the weather of the world, the wind of the world can blow itself upon the paint of their mental chambers and let it dry.
