i am super close with my mom havent spoken to my dad in 25 years

I'm also closer to my mum cause my parents got divorced when I was little and I was raised only by her!

I was close to both of them in very different ways.
My dad lived in a different country from me since I was only 10 and I used to miss him a lot, but when we were meeting up it was as if no time had passed. He was able to make me laugh and forget about the problems I had. Our relationship grew stronger as I became an adult and we could spend hours chatting and enjoying life. He was a special man, never scared to start afresh. Unfortunately, he died recently and I miss him a lot.
I am still very close to my mum, who supported me all thorough my childhood and adult life. She also lives in a country different from the one in which I am not, but I visit her as often as I can and we spend time talking on the phone. She may not agree with all my choices, but I know she will be there for me whatever I do.

I'm closer to my mom 'cause my dad lives all the way in Signapore while me and my mom live in Canada. I've lived with my mom for my whole life and about 2 or 3 years with my dad. I'm closer to my mom, but I look more like my dad. =|-

I have always been closer to my Dad, much to Mom's chagrin.. but we were always oil and water. Our taste in pretty much everything is opposite and I still can't stand how she just cannot manage to think outside the box at ALL. Dad was the one I could talk to about life, politics, even dating.
I'm privileged that both are still living, at 83 and 82. I call most days and Mom and I manage to chat about their day and all, but I still prefer talking to Dad, who in my estimation is pretty much destined for sainthood after 60 years of nagging...sigh...

I love my dad and he treats me like a princess. But my mom taught me all her beauty rituals and mannerisms. I guess I would have to say my mom...girl power..lol

Neither really. I see my Dad more but we don't have the kind of relationship where we could readily hug each other or say "I love you."
I could do that with my Mum but I don't respect her or get on with her well.
