Isn't it sad that my second cousin shows me more love than my parents?
Isn't it sad that my second cousin shows me more love than my parents?

My dad is often away and when I seem down he dismiss's it. My mother was raised by her grandma because she never recieved the attention/love she got from her own mom. Her mom pretty much abadoned her and my grandma was left to take care of her. Now my mom is taking it out on me. Were not suppose to show our feelings-as in being sad or else she'll scream at me and saying im acting like a grannie.

than how come my cousin is the only one who was very nice to me and was trying to cheer me up while no else cared? not even my other cousins at the party? he is my sec. cousin. even though my other cousins are nice he was being esp, nice to me. hes 21. im 14.

BTW AT THE PARTY I WAS MOODY NOT SAD!

I’ve seen this question numerous times, and under different names too (ie: you also posted this as "AllYbaBy"). It always makes me a bit suspicious when people constantly post the same question *under different names*. How many times do you intend to ask it?

Work on your relationship with your parents. This guy was nice to you and tried to cheer you up with you were feeling down, but that does NOT mean that he loves you more than your parents.

And, I wonder if maybe you don't have a bit of a crush on him. IF so, get over it. He's an adult, and (assuming he's a normal adult) I can assure you that he views you as a kid--maybe a kid that he is fond of (in a healthy way), but still just a kid.

Girl, don't hold all the negative in,it will only cause you stress and illness... So,yell??? Tell her you are Grannie, and at least she can hear you now..Then tone it down, you need to sit with dad and tell him how you feel.He might be embarrassed because he doesn't know how to show any kind of emotions, but, teach him. Parents can have a tough time when they see their daughter is 14 and won't be long before she is leaving home. Show emotion,it OK. Hug them, they probably have not hugged each other in years.... They both could be miserable in the marriage? Why shouldn't cousin or not be nice to you?

I know what you are thinking, and no I doubt very much that he is interested in a 14 yr old. He may just understand how you are feeling and he is showing his sympathy for you. Sometimes there are people who bring you down in life, but you have to rise above those people, be the better man in it all. Try sitting down with your mum and tell her how you feel. Maybe you could ask your school for some guidance. Life is only as complicated as you choose to make it.

My parents never showed me affection and we were not meant to express our emotions. I couldn't believe it when my friends would hug me or show me affection.

What it comes down to is your family is a bit dysfunctional - most families are in a way. Yours and mine were dysfunctional because they did not show love or affection. But that doesn't mean all families are like. Your cousin probably knows what your life is like and wishes he could make you happier. Or he is just a nice, well adjusted guy who is decent to people.

Seek out those people in your life who make you feel good, and try not to shut off your own emotions like your parents do. Eventually you'll have a family of your own and it can be wonderful and loving and fun!

Some people are more capable of giving love and affection than others. Just be careful that he is not trying to gain your trust in order to get you to sleep with him.
