it's over for this year. glenco is a good campground, plenty of shade trees , they keep the showers & outhouses clean, good food, just the right amount of nudity.& NO attitudes just 2 blocks from thunder road & the full throttle saloon, on the downside since they started the big concerts last year theres WAY too many motor homes & campers. as for ridding theres too many good rides to do them all in 1 week. after youve seen rushmore & devils tower & deadwood the first year then you start to enjoy going nowhere up in the canyons & back roads. never had a bad experience at glenco except for the weather, had a big wind & hailstorm in 93, blew a lot of tents up in the trees & left 3 in. hail on the ground for a few hours. just about froze every night in 04 sweated a lot in 06. take some long under wear along just in case, you can always throw it away if you dont need it. see ya next year.

Take the Canyon rd out of sturgis to rapid City and then take the road down to custer state park (don't miss the wildlife trail)
When you you will want to take Needles Hwy
wind around 16A
there are super twisted roads and a lot of fun
watch out for the buffalo
do not try to get too close
when you get there, all of the business's have free maps of these runs

I think it takes several trips to see and experience it all. Full Throttle is a good outdoor venue with lots going on. The roads are all great rides and its fun to go different directions each day. Trip after trip, Deadwood remains my favorite destination. If you plan to camp, it's hard to beat Lamphere's Ranch.

Cody is as close as I got, what a poser festival. All the 'non-conformists' and 'rebels' on identical black Harley's wearing identical black Harley t-shirts and leathers and Harley boots. Pretty cool to ride around on my shiny quiet and fast RED sportbike. A Lamborghini amongst the John Deers. I actually got behind some Harleys on a windy road who were not even keeping up with the Winnebago's on the corners.
I remember in the 80's when every bike you saw was a Japanese four cylinder. I got so sick of seeing them and wouldn't consider buying one because that's what everyone else had. Harley's were cool back then, because like tattoos only real bad-asses sported them.
Now the Harley is the McMotorcycle and everyone who would have owned a mood ring has a tattoo. People are such sheep.

It does not matter where you go or stay, they are all the same.
Just a bunch of drunks.
Pick a place away from all the other people, you will be happy you did.
