I am planning on buying a car soon and was wondering whether a Toyota Highlander or a Honda Pilot was better? It's so difficult because they are both very similar. Please help.

I owned a Pilot and did the research at the time. It had more interior space and better gas mileage than any of the suv's in it's class. It has seating for 8 and the Highlander comes in 5 and 7 seats. It was a very nice car. I'm just a mini van kind of person and I traded it for an Odyssey. The only reason I bought an SUV in the first place was because of extreme pressure from my family not to get another "goobermobile".Now my hubby says "I should of just bought you a mini van to start off with." He's right.I'm not an SUV kind of person but if you are, I don't think you can go wrong with the Pilot. It looks better than the Toyota to me also. Good luck and enjoy your new car!

My mom bought a Pilot 2 years ago, they seem to be a bit unloved by the general public, but no question a great vehicle and you'll get a better deal then you would on the Highlander. You can't go wrong with either, I think Toyota has a updated Highlander out now or very soon and if you want a hybrid Honda doesn't make it for the Pilot. I like the looks of the Pilot more though, not so feminine.

We own the a Pilot and absolutely love it. It does have more seating capacity than the Highlander and I think it has a more responsive ride.

The Pilot does not come in a hybrid but that is simply an economic move on Honda's part. The hybrids aren't selling too much for larger vehicles and the cost of the hybrid technology outweighs the savings you'll probably get from increased gas mileage.

Test drive both and see which one you like better. Both are excellent vehicles, but we liked the Pilot better and after owning it for 15 months we haven't regretted the decision at all.

Pilot is a truck. Highlander is a car. Highlander is nicer and lighter in design. I can drive it with my index finger. It's a case of the preference. Either you are a Toyotaman or Hondaman.

Honda Pilot. It was chosen as best midsized SUV by Car& Driver magazine. and J.D. Power and Associates. Honda is slightly more reliable and just an overall safer car.
