Ask her to go talk to her mom about it and so her mom can take her to a doctor.
It may be serious so please ask her to tell her MOM.

yeah she needs to go to the gyn. she might have an std or it could just be a yeast infection that needs to be treated by prescription antibiotics, etc. from a physician. But she shouldnt wait too long to go to the doctor incase it is an std or some other type of infection. It could start out as something small and become a bigger problem if she lets it go too long.

it sounds like your friend might have a bacterial infection, if there is an odor then it is for sure, it is not and std and can be treated easily with antibiotics but she has to see a doctor... Also over the counter meds for a yeast infection only cure some types of yeast infections cause there are several different types her doc can perscribe her one that will clear it up if it is that... try planned parrent hood

Go the the gynecologist, if you are 14 and not sexually active you lilely have not had your first pap, you probably have never been treated appropriately for a yeast infection either. This problem can be addressed privately with your physician. It is also time to get your gardisil shot. (to prevent transmission of hpv which can cause cervical cancer in women, is recommended women get it before becoming sexually active)

(Don't tell them you are going in for a headache-they won't have scheduled enough time to take care of your problem, tell them you need a physical with pap and no more details are necessary., you may go to your family practice physician or a gynecologist, whichever you are more comfortable with)

Definately have her go to a doctor. Doctors really can handle all the nasty stuff about the human body and when you tell them what's really wrong, they're there to help. Heck, if it's that embarassing say she's going for something else like headaches or a routine exam and then tell just the doctor what's really wrong when you get in there with the door shut. GO TO THE DOCTOR!! that's what they're for!!

Could just be good old Vaginitis......she may be using a soap that is too harsh and washing away all her good bacteria. She will probably need to see a Doctor and get started on some Flagyl. Also, if she wears thongs, tell her to cut back on that and only wear them with "have to" outfits. Also, tell her to start eating yogurt or drinking sweet acidophilus milk on a daily basis. This helps to replenish when we lose our "good bacteria". It is very common for women to get this infection, nothing to be embarassed about.

She had this since she was 8? Why hasn't she told the doctor after all these years. Do 8 year olds even GET yeast infections? Get her to the Doctor.

Some women are just prone to chronic yeast infections. If she didnt get rid of it completely then it will just continue to come back. There are a few things tha can help.

1. cotton panties
2. eat lots of yogurt
3. Avoid tight fitting pants
4. avoid douching

She should also see a gyno asap. She needs to get this treated before it turns into somthing more permanent. I know its embarrassing, she needs to just let her mom know that she needs to see a doctor. Family doctors can perform certain tests, diagnose and treat certain conditions.

It sounds like she developed an infection. You can get them even if you aren't sexually active. I had a friend with similar symptoms she got bacterial vaginosis shortly after she was pushed in to an unclean swimming pool. Your friend should definately look up the number for Planned parenthood and schedule an appointment. From what i hear its hell.
