If you are responsible enough to have a car, you'd better be responsible enough to have a job! I was 19 before I owned my first car and I had already attended college for a year, by that time. Both of our sons were already attending college when they first own cars, and we lived in the country.

These days there are no good cars that are cheap to insure; but an older model Honda Civic or Accord would be the most reliable to get. Besides monthly payments on the car and monthly insurance payments, there will be expenses for gasoline and maintenance, including tires and batteries. And, you always have to expect that there may be some unknown extra expenses involved with owning a car.

Probably the only insurance company which will insure a young teen like yourself would be your parents' insurance company and you could check with the insurance company beforehand as to how much insurance will cost.

To be brutally honest, it wont really matter what kind of car your going to buy for 2500 bucks. If you can only afford a 2500 dollar car your probably only going to buy Liability insurance anyway. The really scarry part for you is that if your going to buy a car on payments then your going to be paying lots for full insurance. check out progressive or geico online for a quote.
