I am thinking of upgrading to a PCI-Express motherboard, but I am not sure which video card would be compatible with my system. Does anybody know which video cards would be compatible with a Dell Dimension system?

The card needs to be just compatible with the motherboard and that's it. So pick the right motherboard for your Dell Dimension. Also take note that faster and more powerful graphics card draw 40 watts or much more. You may need to upgrade the power supply too.

You need to open up your case and measure how much space is available for your videocard.

In regards to videocards, I suggest an nVidia GeForce 6/7/8 series or above for Vista compatibility. If using an ATI card, then you need a 9500 series, or X300 series or better.

I always check TomsHardware.com for videocard reviews.
