Is anybody ever heard of partial IDE cable for hard drive in notebook PC? I have this situation, i have two different psychical hard drive, both were used very often and i have to change both of it regularly.

Make life easier, just use an external hard drive. And do not keep on removing and reattaching the notebook's drive.

If you laptop's hard drive is in a "tray", then you can easily swap them out. Most Dell laptops do this -- you can order an extra hdd tray/caddy from them.

I don't suggest using a hack method with IDE cables. Protect your data from accidental damage.

The most elegant solution is to get a bigger hdd (250GB avail. now) and dual-boot your system. Or you can use Virtual PC.
