Who has played with a certain team for all of their career and probably will stay their for their career? Current or retired.

A few I can think of are:
Joe Sakic, Mario Lemieux, Jarome Iginla, Steve Yzerman, Daniel Alfredsson, Mats Sundin, Brendan Morrow probably,Nicklas Lidstrom, Saku Koivu, Patrick Elias, Shane Doan, Sidney Crosby probably, Marty Brodeur, Marty Turco, Simon Gagne. I said quite a few, but do you know anymore?

I think Ice Man is making a lot of assumptions by naming so many youngsters, particularly in this new age of salary caps.

Right now, I'd say Sakic, Brodeur, Modano and Lidstrom are the only players that have a strong likelihood of finishing their careers with one organization. Ohlund, Kolzig and Koivu have an outside shot at achieving the mark.

Ron Greschner (16 seasons with Rangers) and Ken Morrow (10 seasons with Islanders) are 2 names I'd add to the list of retirees with one team on their resumes.

A current check of the NHL statistics database shows 500+ players who have only played for 1 team (500 is the maximum return in the database).

I'm not going to list them all

However...........Mats Sundin was originally a member of the Quebec/Colorado franchise and was TRADED to the Leafs.

Jarome Iginla was originally a member of the MInnesota/Dallas franchise and was TRADED to the Flames for Joe Nieuwendyk

Note: even though Iginla never played a regular season game for the Stars, he did attend a Training Camp and the NHL database does not consider him a 1 team player.

Well, Sundin played for the Nordiques, so he can't be included. Some others are Olaf Kolzig, Mike Modano, Mike Bossy, Maurice Richard, Alex Delvecchio, just to name a few. It's harder than you might think to come up with some greats who only played for one team.

Sakic, Turco, Brodeur, you can probably bet they'll finish there careers where they started. Other young guns that will probably be are Datsyuk (the wings have him locked up for 7 years), Zetterberg (said he wanted to finish his career in Detroit), Dipietro (14 years left on his contract-i mean c'mon lol).

you are talking about NHL teams right well Maxim Afinogenov has been on the Buffalo Sabres for his whole NHL career i think its been 7 years plus he still has another year or 2 left on his contract an hopefully they resign him again
Vanek has also been on the Sabres for his whole NHL career i know 2 years but he still has 7 more with the team

seems a little silly to even include anyone who has less than 5 years in the NHL. i'd bump that number a little higher to maybe 10.
