If you get a bachelor's degree in culinary arts, yes. My understanding is that at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) they take other types of courses along with the cooking courses. If you just go to a cooking school, then no.

Im a baking and pastry major at an art institute. i am going for an associates degree and my classes are probably 95% focused on my major. i still had to take basic math, english, speech, a humantities credit, world civ, and a random general class of my choosing. Im terrible at math and english, but tutoring is free here! AI seems to understand pretty well that art students aren't good at the general stuff! but if you only want to do a certificate program (not for a degree), its 100% baking or culinary (whichever you choose).
hope that helps!

If you're going to a trade school then you will probably only take culinary related classes. However, a college or university typically requires you to take a set of "general education classes" to graduate. These classes include English, Math, History, Science, and other classes. These requirements vary from school to school.
