Please answer the question; it will save time. I didn't think I needed to explain why I'm asking. For those who are curious, it's for a character in a book. Thanks for the feedback.

What about Bridgewood? It is my grans maiden name and I think it is lovely, it is also unusual as normally it is spelt without the e.

I'm assuming you mean "middle name", not last... if you truly need a LAST NAME for your baby, that can't be solved on Yahoo Answers.

I have a friend whose son is named Marshall but I've never known a girl named Marshall. Are you sure you're attached to Marshall for a girl? I mean, yeah, it's a femme name for a boy, too, but it's not girly either.

I would think names like Marshall Danae or Marshall Rose or something would work-- just make sure the middle name is sort of girly.

Marshall is a male name and not usually a first name at all, let alone used for a girl. At least give her something close to a female resemblance of a name. Odd choice for a female character to be a Marshall, Just like Murphy Brown I hated Murphy for a woman's name.
Marshall Tucker
Marshall Crenshaw
Marshall Winthrope
Marshall Eversley
Marshall Barrett
Marshall Dillon ( get it ?)
Marshall Jacobs

Marshall Kelly

It occurred to me after reading your explanation (which we did need :) ) that it might be fun to have her parents give a last name sounding first name since she has a first name sounding last name. Hmmmm... that's muddy, huh?

Marshal sounds a lot like a last name. So why would parents choose it?

They might choose it because the last name sounds like a common first name so they were kind of being funny when they choose it...

Can you email me and tell me more about the story? It is a youth story? Adult?

Good luck! Writing is an incredible gift!

Make a middle name feminine so you know it is a girl when the whole name is said.

Look through a phone book and try the last names out.

I think you meant a good first name for the last name Marshall?

My ideas:

*Sydney Marshall*
Katie Marshall
Alyssa Marshall

Sounds like decent names for a girl. I prayed for a name for my baby boy and God gave me the perfect name for him. Fits him just right. (Noah born 04/02/07)

I'm sorry. Marshall isn't a very nice girl's name. It doesn't help that I sort of dated a jerk named Marshall who was a guy. Ick.

So aside from that bit of info, I got nothin.
