To get into those programs, you need a high undergraduate GPA (3.5 from a highly ranked school or 3.8 from some other school), 700+ on your GMAT, four years work experience, have a good interview and you need to write killer entrance essays.

You don't have to be "absolutely brilliant" -- but you have to be really smart.

I found the undergraduates at Wharton to be much brighter than the MBAs

It's not necessarily about being brilliant, but about your track record. You will want to have an exceptional record in your undergraduate studies and as close to a perfect GPA as possible. That said, it doesn't hurt to be brilliant.
