It depends which city we are talking about
In my home town (Rome, Italy), I could show the usual famous sites (Colosseo, Centro Storico, Vaticano, etc), but I think the most characteristic and atmospheric corner is a region called "Trastevere" (across the river Tevere, literally), with narrow streets of cobblestones and a "last-century" feeling to go with it.
In Vienna, where I live now, I could show you the Rathaus, Stephansdom, the Hofburg and the Museum quarter, which are typical tourist spots, but my favorite place is an open-air market just round the corner from where I live. It is called Natshmarkt (market of the taste) and I will never be tired of it.
Let me know when you are visiting!

First I would start by giving you a tour of our wonderfull shopping centre that come complete with a 2 dollar shop, then we would go on to have lunch at our most popular resturaunt, KFC. After we have had a glorious meal I would take you to the local park and you can delight in our diverse culture that rangs from street bums to pregnant 14 year olds. Then to top it all off we would go to dinner at the RSL and have a well cooked $7 steak and play some pokies!!
Sounds great doesn't it!!

If you came to my actual city, if you could call it that, I would show you the big mulch pile that was on fire for 50 something days, El Chaparal for food, and Floore's Country Store for some famous Tea, then take you to the old town area, which is pretty much little cute shops.

I live in Auburn Hills so we'd have to go watch a Pistons game at the Palace, then head over to Detroit and watch a Wings game at Joe Louis, and then I'll show you all the abandoned buildings, then we can watch a Tigers game, then go to Greektown Casino, get some hot greek food, and gamble till we're broke on our a$$es

I'm afraid you'd get stuck at a blackjack table with jenn - the casino wouldn't matter, but Red Rock canyon, or Lake Mead, or the Colorodo River or the Hoover Dam....

wonderful factors of interest close to to the place I stay are nil, so we could could desire to do a sprint driving. 1st: a visit to the appropriate Lake District, sought after for it incredibly is breath taking environment and association with sought after poets from yester 365 days like Wordsworth and Coleridge. long walks, water hobbies, thatched cottages & marvelous panorama are yet a number of the factors of interest. 2d: sufficient of relaxing, we could could desire to circulate work together among the hustle and bustle of London - arguably the main multi-cultural, cosmopolitan and exciting city interior the international. we could soak up each and all of the factors of interest that London is usual for (and a few that the vacationers are not familiar with) .. "once you're tired of London, you're tired of existence" - An apt quote certainly. third: we could could desire to return to the north and soak up a interest at previous Trafford because of the fact it incredibly is an adventure anybody must be allowed to bask in a minimum of as quickly as of their lives - i could make constructive the fighters have been Liverpool of course!!
