If you've been seperated nearly 2 years and you've moved on. When is a good time to serve the divorce paperwork? Should you leave the decision to the person you left & how much time should you give them?

You shouldnt have to wait, specially if you've been separated for two years. The decision is on both parties, not just the one you left. When you think about the things that has been joined together by marriage, that is the main reason why its taking so long. Either both parties or one dont want to give up on those things. If children are involved then it makes it harder, only because either side wants whats best for the children. If u are involved with the married person and the married person isnt doing much about the divorce, then maybe you have to take in consideration as to why you are still with this person. If this person loves you then, he or she will be doing their utmost best to get the divorce finalized. If there is hatred btween the wife/Husband towards you, then you have a major problem. Find someone who isnt married, so that problems like this dont exist in your heart. Can anybody help me divorce my Wife I think I'm Gay hahahaha

Well it depends on the state you live in. Some states have a mandatory length of time you must be separated before serving divorce papers. And if you want to be done with the marriage after the separation don't prolongate the problems by just continuing the separation. If you really moved on you will serve those divorce papers immediately.

The minimun lenght of separation before divorce is 6 months. To divorce is a decision that you would chose to make if it would suits you or if you want to remain with the same title hopping that one day you may reunite with him or perhaps get a legal right of possession of his property. Waiting for divorce has no limit as long as you don't get yourself hooked to someone else and sign marriage certificates which will require you to divorce first.

Don't leave your future in the hands of someone that you are no longer with. Whenever you are ready to move on then file for divorce. If you were truly ready to move on you wouldn't consider your ex's feelings but only what is best for you.

Good Luck!!

Seems that two years is more than enough time to start the divorce proceedings. If you are still on good terms, you should discuss it first and let them know what you're thinking.

Really, you should try to discuss it either way.

Good luck.

If you've moved on, the time for divorce is now.

You can serve them anytime you choose to pay to file them in this state, but the other party is not required to respond to them at all for several years.

So, if you are the one that left, and your spouse has not done this already; I bet they are patiently planning to take you for as much as you have, had, or will ever hope to receive, lol.

Get er done ... and move on ....

Why would you want to wait any longer. If you decide to re-marry wouldn't you rather have the divorce finalized.
