Second answerer: I appreciate the suggestion but I think Paul is too young and has yet to prove himself in the play-of wars. Peja is a good player but I think his time is over and that is why Sacramento and Indiana passed him around.

To the fourth Guy: Ben Gordon and who? I would like specifics here.

Good question. It would be tough getting Kobe out. Since he is my top scorer and the leader of my team. And since I believe no player is capable of being traded to Kobe 1:1 i'd have to fill the void he would be leaving which is scoring and leadership. So I guess I'd trade him to the Denver Nuggets for Carmelo and AI. Why? Because Carmelo Anthony is a proven scorer (Before AI and him share the scoring responsobilities he was the leading scorer of the NBA.) and AI is one of the better leaders in the league today. So there if there is two players I would like to replace Kobe it's those two.

I went to espn.com and tried to make a trade that makes sense for the Lakers and other teams involved and I just kept asking myself...would the Lakers give up Kobe for that? If I included more than 2 teams, I decided yes, they would. However, here's the issue, while there is enough talent on two teams to satisfy the Lakers in the absence of Kobe, there is only one Kobe and only one team would be receiving him. Now if one of the teams involved were to receive TREMENDOUS salary relief. By tremendous I mean in the $20-$30 million range, then and only then can I see a deal happening. The most common team this could happen to would be the Pacers, however they alone don't have the talent to satisfy the Lakers.

So MAYBE this http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=987~1006~1723~981~110~617~1708~615~2779~813~3036&teams=11~13~11~11~3~17~17~13~13~13~11&te=&cash=

First off, you would be a dam fool to trade the best player in the game and possibly ever to play it.

But if I had my but in a corner, as he dose, I would try and get a PF like Dirk. Kobe would be happy, Maves would get what they needed. It would be strait up or maybe a draft pick from the Maves.

The only thing is the Lakers would need a better SG then Sasha or put Mo Evens there and get some other kind of back court help.

But if the Lakers could Keep Kobe, Keep Odom and get J.O'Neal, they would be top 3-4 every year.

The Maves need a Robert Horry type to get a ring.

The first trade that comes to mind is to Chicago for Ben Gordon and a couple other of thier players. With Nocioni Coming back and he can fill in for Ben. Ben will be somewhat of a fill in for Kobe and he is young. If the Lakers could get a couple of other young players to package in with him or future draft picks they could start rebuilding as well

I am a Kobe hater but I realize the value he carries with a team. If I were M.K. I think I would try to go for Stoudamire and Bell from the Suns if I worked on the Western Conference and from the East I would try to trade for Tinsley and O'Neal from the Pacers. Money might require a third team but that would not be too hard to fit in.

joe johnson is a good scorer. and speedy claxton, a legitimate point guard..

well kobe can be convinced playing for atlanta with up coming players; josh smith and childress, marvin and shelden williams, acie Law and al horford..

both teams i think will benefit.. of course it is difficult to trade kobe, but i think this would be a good one

Lakers
C - Bynum
PF - Kwame
SF - LO
SG - Joe Johnson
PG - Fisher/ Farmar/ Claxton

Hawks
C - shelden
pf - horford / marvin Williams
sf - Josh smith
sg - kobe
pg - acie Law
