In the USA, children have to start school when they are no older than age 6. Parents can choose to home school. There is a program called Head Start and the children who qualify can attend when they are 3 to 4 yrs old. Another name is Pre-K.

My dad died when I was 4 so my mom kept me out of school until I was 6. But after that I think that its the law that you have to go to school.

It wasn't a matter of if they "let me" or not. It's the law - I had to go. My grandmother forgot to send me when I was 7 turning 8 (oops) and the schoolboard called and told her to get me in school immediately.

Yes, when I was little. But in the sixth grade they started homeschooling me. I have become embarrassed of this fact and I don't mention it or people don't take me seriously in the real world.

How little? I had to go to school when I got old enough to go to school. I had no choice. Everyone I know still has to go to school. They have no choice.

They didn't want me to- but I made them let me start when I was 1 because I was bored at home without my older siblings.
