This is common to see women's clothes and dresses being filled with patterns of colorful flowers. Whilst men love to dress in dull an plain clothes. Is it a biological issue or simply a cultural phenomenon?

Because flowers and colors are pretty like women. And "Dull plain clothes" Reflect the the strength of men.

It is nothing but fashion. And the fashion has not always been this way. There have been times and cultures when/where men were the more flamboyant dressers. Most people will conform to the mainstream style of the current time.

And it is not true that all women love to dress in bright colors and all men in dull clothing. In our current western culture there are more restrictions on what is considered appropriate attire for men than for women. A woman who dresses in dull plain clothes will not receive as much rebuke as a man who dresses in flowers and bright colors. But some men wear Hawaiian style shirts anyway. And those are bright and often floral.

Not all men enjoy dressing in dull or plain clothing. Some men enjoy bright interesting colors every bit as much as a woman.

In fact at one time in history men actually wore more flamboyant attire than women did. They wore lace & velvets & fussed about their appearances, their wigs & attire as much as most women do.

As in all things history tends to repeat itsself & lately the trend seems to be reversing once more to young men fussing about the way their hair looks or the way they style their beards. Or even the makeup some of them have begun to use.

Have you ever watched the movie "The Scarlet Pimpernel"

There are 2 or 3 versions of it. It takes place at the time of the French Revolution. The Scarlet Pimpernel has a close group of friends that arrange rescue missions into France to save those, who have been sentenced to die at the guillotine.

Nobody seems to know the identity of the Pimpernel & he is right under their nose wearing foppish attire & preening like a peacock for all of his admirers.

Not exactly ones picture of a hero in ruffles, lace & velvet.

Completely societal. At least in our western culture, men are generally raised to think that it's inappropriate or unmanly for them to enjoy things like floral patterns, while women are raised to believe that it's inappropriately *un*feminine for them to *fail* to enjoy them.

Most people who grow up in our world have very fixated notions of what's appropriate behavior for each of the two genders, and deviations from them are generally met with disapproval. This disapproval is probably more straightforward amongst younger people and amongst more familiar people, but more subtle amongst older people who know each other in a largely professional setting... But for most of us it's there almost constantly.

flowers are a symbol of femininity and it is socially unacceptable for men to dress feminine. women can wear men's clothing and still be accepted, yet men can't wear women's patterns.

I don't know. Most of my clothes are black because black hides the fat better than any other color. Oh, I know. Maybe it's a thin thing for women to show off their body???
