No! Why the hell wouldn't a parent let their kid wear shoes?! It was a requirement, not a choice when I was younger!

No, but I have stepped on more than one rusty nail while growing up because I refused to wear shoes and enjoyed going barefooted. I would be running, while playing and inadvertently step on wood with am old nail.

I still enjoy going barefooted but I don't run in the yards and now I pay more attention to where I walk. :o)

i've stepped on rusty nails, but not because i wasn'tallowed to wear shoes.

I actually did. I was wearing some crappy flip-flops and I stepped on a nail, it broke skin, and I thought it went all the way through my foot. I was probably 4 at the time.

Sadly no, I have never had this experience. My father's favorite line was always "Don't be running around bare-footed!"
