If you pay as you go, I throw a dollar every time. If you got a tab, pay 15%-20% just as usual.

Just have to add how funny it is that guys (I am one) are responding that if the waitress or bartender is hot that they will tip more. Although sometimes this gets noticed, most of these people walk around all night getting hit on by 21-60 yr-olds. Have you ever noticed that they don't come back to you any more frequently because you gave them $2 instead of $1? Have you ever noticed that you are still going home alone at the end of the night too? If you want to get her attention, talk to her. At least you'll have a better shot than throwing money at her like she's a stripper or something. Plus, she might actually respond as opposed to wondering if that guy who tipped her $35 tonight can talk or not.

Just a thought.

Definately $1 per drink...if you are planning on being there a while and it is busy, it's worth it to tip like $2-3 on the first drink, the bar tender will remember you and continue to take care of you for the evening. small price to pay,

If you ask for something and are asked another option you can ask the person serving you what they recommend. When trying a new spirit I generally ask the person serving what mixer is good with it. When asked what size drink you would like start with small... I have found in some places a large glass of wine is way too big. so start smaller instead of bigger.

Usually I just leave the small change like 50 cents to a dollar. If I am picking up the tab for several drinks I leave about $5.00
Figure the same as if you were at dinner 15 to 20%

Usually tip $1 or $2 for a drink.

But if the waitress / bartender is hot, then $3 to $5.

I pay $1 if the drink is pre-bottled and they just have to pull it from the cooler.

I pay $2 if the drink is mixed.
