I have an event coming up and i've heard that you can just skip the sugar pills in a 28 day pack of BC and just continue taking the pills with hormones so you'll miss your period.. Is this true? Will it confuse your body?

In my opinion, I don't recommend it because it will throw your body off and most likely you will have some spotting, which means you could have normal period of "bleeding" anyway. But it will NOT harm your body. Because of hormonal issues causing migraines with me, my doctor actually recommended I try this...and because a doctor said I could do this I'm pretty sure it's not a big deal. It didn't work for me, and I bled so much anyway, and I hated not being in control of my periods. so I immediately stopped and went back to taking my pills normally. Once again, it may affect your body completely differently than mine, so give it a shot. I might also possibly talk to a doctor about this option first just to make them aware that you want to try this because this is just in my experience!

I did it once and I will NEVER do it again.

Not only may you still get your period, but even if you don't your cycle is now screwed up because you skipped that weeks pills instead of taking them as prescribed.

It took months to get mine back on track, and its still somewhat off.

I would just take some tampons and change them every four hours or so.

i'd say, bad idea. your body is meant to work a certain way and the pills are there either to work that way or fix any problems you might have. you don't want to screw it up by don't things wrong. ask your doctor. you need a week w/o horomones so your body isn't all funky.

I don't think it will work the first time you do that. You can do it without any harm, but you will likely experience spotting/breakthrough bleeding since you will be throwing your normal cycle out of whack. I think you can find more info on www.fewerperiods.com

you can do it, but i hear it will make you have a heavyer period next time you have it. you might as well stick with having your period, it's more natural and your body will agree.
