Often I will see a very thin pregnant woman, belly hanging out with no stretchmarks whatsoever. If stretch marks are caused by skin stretching then wouldnt a thin persons skin have to stretch even more than a person who's skin was already stretched over some flab which would then cause stretch marks? I was medium sized at the beginning of my pregnancy and I got the worst stretch marks halfway up my abdomen, my friends sister who is stick thin has had 2 kids and has never had a stretch mark! How can this happen?

If your skin starts growing or strecting too FAST then you will get stretch Marks !!! Like if you gain weight really fast or too fast then you will get them !!! some don't gain weight too Fast so they don't get them !!!! they gain slowly and the skin doesn't stretch badly !!
