Donna, cause you're probably pretty that's why, if you were a guy you'd get doused with beer and insults.

Some people take sports way to seriously. It is entertainment after all. Wearing a hated opponent's team gear to a game is basically asking for some hopefully friendly abuse and banter. When I say friendly, it should be friendly. That is not always the case. If you wear a Miami Dolphins jersey (or anything) to Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, you stand a good chance of getting doused with beer, hot dogs, etc....it stinks. Now that is not to say that fans in Buffalo are wild and crazy; they just are like fans everywhere....with the possible exception on baseball in Toronto. You could wear just about anything there and they will be friendly. We wore Indians gear to a Blue Jays vs. Rangers game in Toronto, and we just received good natured banter. Nice folks up there, but not for hickey. Wear Sabres stuff in Toronto and you are asking for trouble.
It is probably that way in Boston and New York City especially later in the season. If you are lucky, you can avoid the jerks.

I don't have any experience with Boston caps at Yankee Stadium, but the people I've seen wearing Mets caps and jerseys (including a cousin I took to the game) get absolutely demolished, at least verbally. And hell, that with another New York team. The Yankees/Red Sox relationship is quite a bit more.... bitter, so I can't see it going well.

Are you kidding??! You can't JUST bring a Yankee Cap into Fenway Park (OR vice versa)!!! You ALSO have to bring an Umbrella (to fend off some of the indigestible missiles that WILL come raining down on you); a muscle bound body guard (to fend off some of the "unintentional" body blows that WILL come raining down on you); AND- your mother-in-law (to fend off- & counteract- some of the virulent invective that WILL come raining down on you, from ALL sides!). AND if your team should WIN- a contingent of National Guardsmen close enough at hand- to get you OUT of the Stadium ALIVE- before the home team fans tear you to pieces. :)

I wore a Yankee cap to Fenway. The guys sitting behind us, bought us beers. It was actually a pleasant experience.

I am a yankee fan myself and I have seen plenty of Boston fans at the game I go to. What happens is that they are usually verbally assaulted and sometimes get into huge fights. One fight I saw a boston fan got ejected from the stadium for punching a yankees fan.

I've seen plenty of red sox fans at Yankee Stadium, they will occasionally be verbally assaulted. It's probably in their best interest that the red sox lose that game

I'm a Boston native (I live in CA now) and lived next door to Fenway Park for years. I lived right on the corner of Ipswich and Boylston and I would see all the people around coming and going to a lot of games. I saw a fair amount of people in Yankees hats and people would smack talk to them but everything that I ever witnessed was pretty civil. Just a bunch of heckling. And I sent my husband and his friend to a Red Sox game at Yankee Stadiumand he was wearing a red shirt and he didn't get any **** at all!

YUCK THE FANKEES!!!!

It will be rough, if its anything like wearing Chicago Cubs gear to a Chicago White Sox game (it was a crosstown classic, but we were on the White Sox home turf)

I had people yelling at me and calling me names and stuff, but at least I had some fellow Cubs fans to support me! :)
