Well, it depends on your style...
but jeans are always good no matter what.
& a cute top or something.
but the first day of high school isn't as scary as most people make it. once you get there, && you realize there's a bunch of other people who are new, you're not so scared && its actually a fun experience.

Jeans are probably the best thing. With a cute top and an overshirt thingy. High school is scary, yes, I willnot lie to you. If you are brand new, but if you have established friendships, you and your friends will be together. There are probably people from other schools starting there too, and those are the ones that you will most likely be intimidated by. But hopefully you will just be friendly, and maybe have a class with some of the kids from the "other" school, and eventually end up being very close with them. Making new friends is always a plus in high school. Some of the best friends I have right now were girls from the "other" side of town who I hated right off the bat when high school started. Good luck!!!

It's my first day of high school soon, too!
But what my common sense tells me (and my common sense has been confirmed by my sophmore friend) is to not dress slutty, but don't wear a neatly pressed button-down collared shirt with a pleated knee-length skirt.
So, I would suggest just finding something you feel confident in and comfortable in that will make a good impression on everyone, and then walk into that school like you have the world on a string.
I don't think the first day is going to be terribly scary-- you may just feel a little nervous. But here are some tips I picked up from my friend:
1. Don't date a senior guy... most seniors are just seing how many freshman girls they can "do" if you catch my drift...
2. Upperclassmen girls will actually tell a freshman the right directions to a classroom if you're lost.
3. Just be friendly, but not in a clingy manner.
4. Make some older friends, if you don't already have some.
Good luck! God bless!

Today was my first day.
In some ways, it's the best day of the year because all your teachers know that you are confused about stuff, so they give you the benefit of the doubt.
You could come to class half way through the period and they wouldn't care.
Needless to say, they would later.
It's all new, especially if you don't know the campus, but after the first couple days of getting used to it, it's perfectly comfortable.
Just make sure you make a lot of friends.
Oh, and regarding what to wear - just wear a typical outfit that you would wear on any normal school day. No point in dressing up because the people see you every day anyway, and they'll see your regular clothes the rest of the year.
Besides, dressing up on the first day is kind of corny... haha, but it doesn't really matter either way.
Have fun!

Wear a screen T with a funny message on it like "I majored in Vacation" or "Meet me after school" or I" met you boyfriend on Myspace". Those are always cool. If you think this is hard wait until you have to decide what to wear 4 the first day of classes in college. High school is not bad. I made it through with no problems. I'm sure there is a least 1 person you know from middle school who is going 2 the same high school. just do what i did just sit with them a lunch till u meet new friends.

think about the first day of last year. do you remember what you were wearing? do you remember what anyone else was wearing? probably not. so just wear whatever you are comfortable in, and rock the hell out of it. if you want to wear jeans and a t shirt go for it. if a pretty dress is more your style, then wear that. wear what YOU like, and will make you feel confident on your first day.
the only thing that really scared me about my first day of high school was getting lost. my high school was HUGE....beyond that....honestly, no, its not that scary. your gonna meet new people, learn new stuff, and learn alot about yourself. be yourself and go into it with an open mind and youll be fine. be polite. basic common curtosy (saying please and thank you, opening doors for people, picking up books if someone drops them) will get you a long way

Obviously you want to look nice cause first impressions mean a lot, even a lot of teachers have already made their minds up about students based on how they dress and present themselves. So its kind of important to look good.
Since you're a chika, you want to look cute--not necessarily hot or sexy. Cute is good in anyones book plus it gives off a friendly vibe, and that seriously helps when meeting new people. And don't be anyone other than yourself, like seriously. Just look cute in jeans a nice shirt, maybe with flip flops, and there you go.
I don't know what grade you're in for sure, but its usually pretty much straight forward. Usually classes aren't usually teaching the first day, rather going over procedures, syllabus, and going over goals for the class etc. You get reunited with friends, meet some new people, and just have a pretty straight forward day.

Ok!! here's my 3 cents.
Wear somthing Nice & CLASSIC!! e.g. Nice White top with Blue jeans(Can't go wrong). Matching shoes or sandals. And bag too i guess.?(Up to you)
Somthing classic and nice, but CHIC enough to make you stand out you know?
If you dress too provocative, I bet you. 99.9% you'll hear some older chick utter the word "SL*T" following with a dirty look. You can do this later on if you want...but not on first day.
PLUS, theres nothing worse than Overdressing for the occasion.(sometimes its good!)but not for this one!
& First day isn't Scary! it's FUN!, Its like being at a Huge party, with thousands of randoms!!
Difference is, you go to classes in between, and have to go back to the same party, with the same ol' People for a Year even when you want to go home.
When you get settled in after a few months, you'll be like yeah!!...that AckileeZ guy on Yahoo was so right!
Good Luck

You should wear whatever your style of clothing is. The first day of high school should not be scary at all.

wear what you feel comfortable in. when you wear something that is uncomfortable you look like you are too. people will look at you like what is wrong with her. the first day is great.. i remember someone saying its like a circus, kids are scared clueless where to go, teachers are freaked out too. but all in the end its not bad at all. You just have to know where your classes are before you go, that really helps.. i went to a high school that was way over crowded, walking in the halls was a JOKE. good luck and be yourself
