could you tell me the diffrent things it could be and what diffrent things each thing would do so maybe i can rule a couple out.
im a female and i hate taking my car places to be looked at without somewhat of an idea of whats wrong i get screwed around a lot and theyw ill try to take advantage and get more money out of me.
by the way my car is a 92 dodge shadow pretty beat up car but runs good. i have small kids thats why im worried about the noises its making also when i come to stop when i push the breaks theres a clunky pop noise over and over til the car stops.

Here's what you need to have them look at:

1. Check the sway bar links. Sounds like you might have a broken one. This is a cheap repair.

2. Have them look at the springs, suspension, in the front and rear. Chrysler products are prone to coil spring breakage because they use recycled steel (scrap) and this makes weak/poor suspension and drive-train parts (rear wheel drive driveshafts). If there is a leaking strut or a bad ball joint have them show you what is wrong.

3. Have them check the steering linkage. You might have a bad tie-rod.

4. After they have looked over the suspension they need to do a brake inspection. Keep in mind that an estimate will include parts that are out of specification (worn out) and parts that are visably compromised like a brake hose/line that isn't leaking but prone to a near future failure. The minimum that they will do is replace the brake pads and or shoes and either replace or turn the old brake rotors/drums.

Good Luck!

Sorry luv U got to get it checked out by a mechanic. Ask your friends/relatives to recommend a garage that they trust. Or take along a male to talk to them. One dealership I know gives lessons on cars to women only so they will not have this problem. Just basics like how to check oil or change a tire. Things that will help them maintain their cars. Check out your area maybe someone there does too. U need to know this stuff, the life U save may be your own.

well it could be a number of things like u have a worn or bad ball joint, bad struts, bad wheel barrings, bad wheel hub,and if it's front wheel drive it might just be a bad CV shaft i had the same problem with my old 1997 Nissan altima and it was a combination of all but go to a auto tech that is A.S.E certified and have them look it over just to have them look it over might cost u 20.00 to 50.00 bucks at the most and also that noise that u here when u go to stop that to me for sure sounds like u have some bad wheel barrings and wheel hub let me know if this helps

the two most common problems are bad or broken strut or a broken wheel bering. Try having a friend jack up your car and see if the wheel seems loose by grabbing the wheels and trying to move them. Sometimes cv joints can do this as well. I believe that bad struts are the culprit.

sounds like you have a loose brake caliper or a broken bolt on one otherwise it wouldnt do it over and over. suspention problems tend to make the noise once during a certain condition. dont so anything about the suspention just tell the shop theres something wrong with the brakes, or have someone check them 4 u.

I would check the muffler, especially if you also notice a vibration when you drive, and the brakes, sounds like your brake pads have worn down.

Most likely is the tailpipe is hanging free due to broken brackets.
