The very WORST thing you can do (I don't even know anyone that does this) is tense up your muscle when they are giving you the shot. It makes it hurt a HELL of a lot more than otherwise (from what im told anyway - from doctors and such)
Just look at a poster (doctors offices always have posters, dont they?) and think of something totally random, but like, focus on it.
Just to keep your mind distracted until they say "all done"
It will be a piece of cake, don't scare yourself =P

Just don't look at it. At the time of the needle be looking away and focussing on something in the room, and talk to the person giving the shot. If you stay silent you'll be waiting to feel the needle which will make it worse.
After you've got the shot if it hurts try pinching your leg or other arm (not too hard). Doing that will force you to stop focussing on the puncture's pain and it be lessened a bit.
Needles aren't so bad really. It's not the needle that hurts, it's the injection. When you realize that and can separate the pain from the needle you wont be so afraid of getting them. They seem a bit less evil, hehe :]

First of all, don't look at it! Also, I think you should reward yourself for having to go through something that you hate so much. Tell yourself you can get something new & go shopping after you have the shot. Or get yourself a pedicure or something else to pamper yourself like a new perfume or something. Keep thinking about what you're going to do after you have the shot. And try not to think about the needle so much so that you don't psych yourself out. Maybe you can teach yourslef to associate the experience of having to have a needle, with something pleasurable that you enjoy. (I know that sounds bad, but you know what I mean:) Good luck!

What an odd thing to be so afraid of. But, since you are, my best suggestion is that you not look at the needle. Don't watch it being prepared or any part of the procedure. Sit down, close your eyes and follow any verbal directions they give you. Shots may hurt a bit, but it is quite a small pain that does not last very long.

I used to fear needles then I had all these blood tests and allergy shots. And something that you learn from having it many times is, it really doesn't hurt much. Just the fear and everything makes it worse. So, just don't look at it, think that it's only a second and then be proud of yourself for doing something and being so brave. :) It works because once you felt proud of yourself, you aren't as afraid next time.

I think that you should take a stress ball
and squeeze it when the needle goes in
but make sure its in the other hand
because your not suppose to tighten your muscle when you get them
or
you could talk to your mom or dad
or whoever is in the room with you.
or
just don't think about the needle
sing your fave song or hum
or just think happy thoughts
and
it will be over before you know it

I even have this style of phobia that I start to hyperventilate and freak out, [purely for bloodwork, or the little diabetic finger pricker at each and each wellness care expert checkup!] and on occasion the medical doctors REFUSE to offer me photos it is so undesirable, so which you at the instant are not on my own. try icing the injection internet site in the past, [pass to the closest convenience shop and purchase a cup of ice or something, ect.], and in simple terms no longer thinking approximately it. Take a deep breath good in the past they inject, and launch it whilst they poke you, it helps. good luck. do no longer pass out :[

You know, they used to freak me out, until I went in when I was older, I decided before I even went in that I wanted to "look like a badass", and just not even flinch. Afterwards, it didn't really feel like much of an accomplishment, since it was way easier than I psyched myself up for.
