If you either like Star Wars and want a playful or you loathe it and want to see it put to shame, then watch it. If you aren;t a fan of goofy spoofs like Scary Movie then maybe you won;t like it. It's similar type, though it focuses more on the irony of situations and puns.

It definitely is a cult classic. I suggest watching it once to see if you like it. It's basically a parody of Star Wars and its definitely funny. If your a fan of Star Wars then you'll like it. I saw this movie a long time ago and I remember I liked it when I was younger. There's no need to feel your missing out on a movie. Just check it and see what you think of it.

Yes! Although most women don't tend to like Mel Brook's brand of comedy, I still think it's a great comedy. It does a great job of parodying Star Wars, while throwing in gags from other sci fi franchises.
If you watch it and like it, I would also recommend Blazing Saddles, History of the World: Part 1, and Young Frankenstein

Yes, it parodies other sci-fi movies, and it is very funny! One of Mel Brook's classics. The premise is based on the story of Star Wars, but makes references to some other flicks. I own the DVD and have watched it many times, and enjoy it each time I've seen it.

If you like comedies, Mel Brook's sense of humor, John Candy, and/or Star Wars, you will love this movie. My favorite character is the princess, however.

YES! If you like Star Wars, Mel Brooks, or both, it's a must-see. It's typical Brooks (meaning hilarious).
