why does everyone always trash-talk Yankee fans?, I don't understand what the point is, cause it is impressive how they sucked first half and now are first in the wildcard. But there is also reasons to trash-talk them, cause they always refer to how many championships theyve won no matter wut and how they have great players...I DONT KNOW, yankee fans just i guess kinda have big mouths cause they think that the yankees are so fantastic but in reality they arent THAT amazing...someone help me clear this up, why they get trash-talked so much...........anyways GO JAYS

Yanks fans have two things working against them.
1) Yankees have been the best team in baseball, both historically, and recently (last 10 years). Its our nature to hate, call it jealousy, or whatever; thats why most people wish they were rich but usually talk ill of wealthy folks. Think I'm wrong about hating, look at all the grocery store mags that sell, all they are about is bad things happening to famous/rich people.
2) There are more Yankee fans than any other one team. Every team has ****** fans, trust me I've seen fans of mediocre teams curse out lil kids for wearing a hat of the opponent, since there are more Yankee fans its just logical that there are going to be more of them that are jerks. Its a shame cause I don't even feel like I can take my kid to a game without idiots ruining it. I'm sorry you didnt make it as an athlete, I don't think getting drunk, yelling at other fans and picking fights make you part of the game. If all fans tried to show some class I think things would be better. (now lets see how long it takes for a classless response to follow this one)

Continual success breeds contempt. The Yankees have the most successful franchise in all of sport and as a result people are jealous of their continued success. The only thing I don't get is why people use the word "Hate" to describe their feelings about the Yankees. Hate is a strong word not to be taken lightly especially when used in the context of Yankee fans. I don't get that.

I'm not a yankee fan or jay fan but, considering the lineup, c'mon! Jays are the best team.
The Yankees are only prooving that sometimes, money buys wins and that "money is everything" to NY anyway...

most people hate yankees because they are jealous its obivous and yankee fans have something to brag about. if you got it then flaunt it duh!
well you should try siting at a yankee game and act like your a yankee fan its really fun the fans are hilarous esp in the bleacher creatures in bleacher 39

Any time a franchise gets RIDICULOUSLY good it WILL happen- Everyone s the yanks- now that they win so much
In the eighties that didn't happen and they were just another team
Same thing for the patriots and the Spurs

people naturally hate franchises, unless they are a fan of that franchise. When it comes to powerful teams people or anything, you are usually strongly with them or strongly against them, not much space for middle ground. And do you honestly expect devout fans to be humbled? Cause no matter the yankees record they will not be.
