please read this, im really very curious on your thoughts on this situation!?

this isnt me in this situation. im 21 and out of school. but twice tonight i have come across questions from girls who go to schools that require uniforms. one girl's mother gave away all her (the daughters) clothes away, and now this girl is reqired to be in her uniform at all times, unless she is in bed, even on non school days. the other girl who asked a similar question said she can wear differant clothes only on fridays, and during other special occasions, but the rest of the time she MUST be in her uniform.
here is where my question comes in. i understand these girls are underage and must abide by their parents rules, but doesnt this seem a little TOO extreme? it almost seems like a sort of minor form of abuse. i can imagine these girls get lauged at when they are the only one among their friends in a school uniform on a friday night...so mentally these girls must be kinda traumitized...idk, all of us answering these girls arent sure what to say. your thoughts?

please! keep in mind that i am fully aware that while in your parents house you should abide by your parents rules. i fully endorse that. however, in this case, it does seem a little extreme that even when she is out with friends she isnt allowed to wear what she wants. this is one case where i really do think the parents need to cut these girls a little slack

i know that if these girls are strong they will get through this just fine. im just concerned that right now this may not be the best thing for them. teenagers need to find out who they are by going out and experiencing things, and fashion is a part of those experiences. im aware its not the most important thing ever, but everyone gets a little sensitive when your out and suddenly you hear someone making fun of your clothes. enough of that could really wear on a girl

no, she is still in high school, im the one that is 21. i was just letting you know my age so you didnt think i was one of those people who come on here and say "my friend wants to know" but then the question really ends up being about them, not their friend at all.
