Anyone have or know a boy or girl named Colby? Is this an unusual name or common?

It's a great name. I've noticed it's becoming a little more common.

Colby for a boy, not a girl I think of colby cheese or Colby from Survivor the reality show. It's a southern/rural sounding name. Not a bad name though. I like the name Chad for a boy.

I know a few with the name Colby but they are older. I think Colby was very popular a few years ago but has since "died down". I think the name Kobe is more common now than Colby.

My friends little boys name was Colby, he passed away almost 3 years ago.... he was 4. It is becoming MORE of a common name!

I have actually know a couple of boys and girls named Colby. I think it works ok for either. I wouldn't say that it unique but it is getting used a lot more - but it still isn't as common as Matthew.
And it never made me think of cheese until mentioned here... LOL!

I have a friend who named her son Colby..there where alos 4 Colby's in my daughters K class. So I think it is becoming very common.

One of my all time favorite singers is named Colby. I think it is a pretty unique name. I think it is one of those unisex names so it should be great for a boy as well. Good Luck and God Bless!

There is this celebrity who named his kid Pilot Inspector. If some can name their kid something as stupid as Pilot Inspector you can name your child a decent name like Colby. Personly I like the name Peter for a boy but Colby isn't bad. I don't think you'll regret it.
