The heart has long been used as a symbol to refer to the spiritual, emotional, moral, and in the past also intellectual core of a human being. As the heart was once widely believed to be the seat of the human mind, the word heart continues to be used poetically to refer to the "soul", and stylized depictions of hearts are extremely prevalent symbols representing love.

The heart is symbol of life. A gift of the Lord, presumably who wants us to share and value to find path to heaven and favour. The heart is deceitful above all things and it is possible to have it pierced by cupid in love at first sight/hence arrow thru it. The heart of life is truth and powerful feelings of optimism shown by each new granted day. A heart is a center, so as life distributes and takes us places we often return to the tried and true. The heart is not always good/far from it but as in 5th Dimension--it is the sun in this sentence, "let the sun shine, let the sunshine in." When we give of our hearts and selves we create the future itseld. Our short small beating life becomes giant.

Man is triune in nature, (spirit, soul, and body.)

Within the heart rest our emotions, Though many could argue, we all experience at times, intense emotions in the heart. (Center of the soul)

Given the "feeling of love" is felt in the heart, we have the heart as the symbol of love.

The true symbol of love should be something like peanut butter or gum. (Stick through your soul mate through thick and thin. ) LOL!

Because the heart keeps you alive, it's like the most vital organ and the life force. It pumps bloods and keeps all the other organs going.
Like true, you need other organs as well but they are still central to the heart. Well, I think. LOL

I believe CLOSE to the heart is where our souls live....the soul holds all emotions...NOT the physical heart obviously...This is literally for pumping blood...It is just so close that us humans have nothing else to call it, but, the heart...Quite interesting I think!...So, I believe this is why we have assumed that the heart itself is where love is....but, If you think about it, it does not seem to be exactly in the heart, yet, the center of our being....
