Thats a hard one. Horror movies have catagories if ur a real horror movie fan like i am. Most horror movies have alot of blood and gore but their so fake that u end up laughing most of the time. But if u want blood and gore with stuff that is partily realistic that screws with the human mind, ull want to go with something like Saw or Hostile. I have to admit that Hostile messed with me and had me cringing and jumping. It starts off a little boring for the first 20 minutes but dont give up on it, just wait. Its the type that if u have it up loud enough to where u can hear it in another room, the sounds alone will screw with your head. Trust me when I say it has all the bloody gorey factors and then some. It was awesome.

Horror movies aren't really "scary" -- hence the "Scary Movie" franchise. The truly scariest movies are the ones based on truth. Try "In Cold Blood".

I've still not gotten over the European release of "The Vanishing". The American re-make needed a different ending for U.S. audiences.

"Silence of the Lambs" is based on a true character, but it still feels like it is only a movie.

As for pure fiction, I still like the original "Dawn of the Dead."

haven't seen one of those keep me up at night movies in a long time. But I just watched "Hills Have Eyes 2" And it was kinda freaky. It takes alot to freak me out as far as movies goes. I love those horror flicks. I always have and hope I always will.

you sound like a Hostel fan....

Blood and gore dont makes movies scary. and to tell you the truth there is no movie out there that will give you nightmares for months.

if your looking for a movie thats just crazy tho with the blood and gore and is alittle creepier then Hostel you should check out High Tension.

HALLOWEEN movies
I'm a Huge Halloween/ Michael Myers fan. i loved the original 1,2 but i think that Rob's remake will be a very interesting take because its gives more in to Michael's past. i don't know i liked all the Halloweens except the 3rd on season of the witch. i was glad to see that Jamie lee Curtis completed her character and put and end to that chapter.
