That's the point: The songs are NOT free. They were written and performed by people who want to make money from their audience, and all the illegal sharing of computer files doesn't change that.

Yes, it's easy. No, it's not legal, and it won't be unless the Copyright Laws are changed.

As the person above said, it's illegal to download copyrighted material -- the software, "Limewire", itself is 100% legal -- but that doesn't mean the software can be used illegally. Be smart.

You can think of Limewire being like a Gun. A gun has legal uses (self defense, target practice, etc.) but it can also be abused (used to murder). On the Internet there is no such thing as "gun control" -- everyone makes their own choice. But your choice doesn't make you immune to the consequences.

yes limewire is illegal.
the songs are "free" because people who are sharing these files are making "free" by redistributing the music which is illegal.
