I don't know how to word this so it makes perfect sense, but I'll try. Sometimes it's not the amount of weight you lose, but how much you can tone up through exercise. Go to a local Curves (if there's one near you) and ask for a copy of their in-house magazine, Diane. They always have several pages of women who weigh for example 180 lbs. but wear a size 8. Then they tell you how they did it. Prevention magazine--available at the grocery store check-out lane--has a similar section. All the women ate more sensibly and started exercising. Some went to "diet" places like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig to help them adjust their eating attitudes and change their habits. Each magazine shows the before and after pictures. I won't give my statistics because I'm not as brave as you are, but I lost only 23 lbs. in 6 months, but by adding exercise (I chose Curves because it fit my budget, it held my interest because I only had to go 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time, it was for women of all ages in all shapes and sizes, convenient times, and it was independent--no set classes). After 2 months I'd lost 12" and was so invigorated I added 1 mile a day walk and after 4 months I lost 17 `1/2". I asked my husband who did not know my beginning weight or the weight at that time how much he thought I weighed and he guessed 75 lbs. lighter. My answer probably wasn't what you wanted because I didn't give you an exact number of pounds. All I can say is add exercise, even if it's only walking a few minutes a day to start, for maximum loss. Good luck. It's hard, I know, but I'm the worst one for exerting myself and I found I actually enjoyed the weight loss and exercise and even began to like myself again.

The bigger you are, the more pounds between each size.
For instance, at 5'4" and 140 pounds, I wore a size 12.
At 110, I wore a six; and at 200, I wore an 18.
From experience [ and I am taller than you, but also pear shaped so that also makes a difference ] it takes about 20 or so per size until you get down to about a size ten.
So count on losing 20 for a size 18, another 20 [ total 40 ] for a 16; another 20 [ total 60 ] for a 14; another 20 [ total 80 ] for a 12; another 20 [ total 100 ] for a 10.
Then the pounds/sizes reduce to about 10 - 15 pounds per size.
Eat well, exercise, and good luck!

It is really hard to determine that because you have to take into consideration your height, weight, muscle tone, and body fat. Muscle weighs more than fat so it really depends on if you are more solid or fatty (sorry, no offense). I stopped a while ago saying that I was going to loose so many pounds and started giving myself goals in clothes size because the scale can be very intimidating. If you loose weight the healty way by diet and exercise then you should be able to get in a 12 if you weigh 180 pounds. Good Luck!!!

it awesome your putting your size and weight out there and asking for help. to answer your question go to a doctor and see what your goal weight should be. this will help you alot because you now know what you have to get to , to fit into your goal size. i would try going to weight watchers or la weight loss one of my friends mom did it and she lost 100 pounds she weiged about 329. but the best thing you should do is to stick to an awesome diet and thats what la weight loss and weight watcher offers you. a diet that goes with you ,something you can stick too, you'll start losing wait in no time. i hope you have fun on your exciting new journey!Remember it may get hard at times but just remeber a new healthier you is on its way!

It really depends because when I was 220lbs I was a size 16 so it depends on your height/body type. I would say at least 20lbs to go down 4 sizes.

i'm now 140, size 8...i have a big butt though...i'm really not sure. i think you should ask a doctor, but remember it's not about losing weight to look good. it's about losing weight to be healthy--looking good is just a perk. good luck on your journey! :)

About 100 lbs. But get on a medically supervised diet. that much weight too fast can be dangerous.
