I know alot of you want to believe in god, but, if he does exist, how did we come to know about it. it's most likely people were upset or confused of there existence and made god to sooth it. i mean, some people belive in buddah, i bet you think "no way buddah exists, he's just some made up god!" WELL! those people say the same to you!

Most religion started by being based on the earth or the stars. Then some evil men used human ideas of right and wrong to control the minds of the weak and profit from it.
Pastorart, i would like to see some of this proof. Is there any place that i can find this? Because all i can find using historical reference is the same story of Jesus being used for a myriad of other Sun Gods thousands of years before your Christ. Including the virgin birth and the Resurrection. As a matter of fact there is a large amount of albeit circumstantial evidence that the Jesus myth came from the same progenitor as Horus the Egyptian God and many others Middle eastern religions, THE STARS. In fact when you look into history and even into our own world you will see these significant correlations. So i really would be interested in reading your proof. Please feel free to Email me.

A long time ago, some smartass cavemen realized something - that there must be something bigger than us, a higher power. Or else there would be no point to our existence. And this is how the idea of god was born.
Since then, people have interpreted this idea in different ways, resulting in many different religions. They have tried to understand god, and figure out what god would want us to do. They invent rules and philosophys to live by, ones wich they expect will bring us closer to god, closer to understanding our own existence.
Nowadays we have christians, muslims, buddhists, whatever. They all have there own intepretations of god.
By the way, budda isnt a god, he is what you would call anyone who has achieved total enlightenment; someone who has reached nirvana. He is worshipped because he is the state wich buddist strive to achieve - a state in wich one is part of god.

What does it matter if someone believes or not. Each person has their own beliefs. I just wonder if people are so intelegent why cant they just be kind to each other. We all have standards by which we want the world to honor, but we can not place those standards before our indignation for the others beliefs. I do not claim perfection in anything in my life, but I do claim progress in how I treat every person I meet. That is the homeless person I talk to to the president of my school I attend. I hope that one day people will actually learn to accept each other as they are and they will let go of what they disagree on. I know many people from many faiths and nonfaiths. But the one's who work for peace usually are truly the most loving and kindest people I would like to become like. So in saying learn to laugh, learn to love , learn to forgive so that you can truly live.

You must grasp the concept of "belief". Whether or not God exists is unknowable. So what can you do when science cannot help answer the question? That is where belief comes into play. Since the existence of God is not knowable, all you are left with is belief. The belief he does exist or the belief he does not.
You must choose which you want. need or prefer to be the case.
Hey, I am just keeping it real!

Yes God exists because it's history and a lot of it is true. No people like seeing great things happen so they recorded it in the bible. I don't think people would just make up stuff if they saw something great. The bible makes a lot more sense then bubba. A lot of its' teaching apply to what happens on this earth, for the past, present, and future.

There is so much evidence proving the Bible is correct and very little to even suggest that Buddha ever lived.
Buddha never claimed to be god and never rose from the dead.

God is a man made idea to keep people in line and to make them obedient.
Not to bust your chops, but why is this question NOT in the "religion" section?
