Okay, I would really love it if there were some serious answers on here. I have a dream - No, not to become the next Miley Cyrus or Jennifer Aniston, but a dream I actually think is realistic. I live near Los Angeles, I think auditioning for some commercials, or even guest starring on a reality TV show would be an amazing experience. Since I'm still only fourteen, I realize my parents encourage me to be the typical "doctor, engineer, professional"...and I don't approve of modeling with bikinis, nude, or revealing clothes. I just want to say I've had the experience of being in showbiz - And hey maybe if the showbiz likes me, I can pursue it further. For now, I think it would be awesome to be famous, but I just want to pursue my passion of being on stage. I want to audition - Any advice?

u r in a great position for show biz
u live near L.A.
u r young
u hav a passion and motivation

just lyk everything an acting career is first small then becomes big ( unless u r really lucky)
so i think u should lyk act in school or local theaters
so u hav more to put on your resume and it's easy to get noticed in plays especially wen u live near a major city. wen u think its enough u go for sumthing bigger then bigger then bigger until u get to the point where want

connection is also another big thing so ask if ur friends if they kno anyone in the media or kno somone who does. go meet them. ask them questions, make frienz with them (i personally prefer making frienz with them first) If u meet som1 famous dont act googly and wild lyk everyone else act lyk he or she is just one of ur frienz that would make make notice u the most and have them help u. lyk ask for their agent or sumthin lyk that
thats all i could think of for now since im so sleepy
ill say some more wen i think of them

Well, if it really is your passion, do it. Tryout for school and community plays, look for an acting class, read books on acting and read every play you can find. You will need lots of background like this to audition for an agent and through an agent is the only way to get a commercial. But you have to understand that show biz is not a flavor of the month that you can just walk up to and try. It takes lots of preparation and hard work and devotion and courage and deterimation and luck. If you are just luke warm about it, forget it. Chances of becoming famous are less than slim. You sure you want to try?

Hi,

If you do a search here on answers you will see other answers to this question, as it comes up usually a couple of times each day. I answer this question a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers over and over again, I have created an ebooklet that will give you a lot of intormation as to what you need to do to get started. Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.

The second resource is about getting an agent, although, if you have no training yet, then I doubt that you are ready, but here it is anyway: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_an_agent.html . It takes you through a process that I used to get two agents and a personal manager in a short period of time in New York. Using the same process, I also got casting directors to actually start calling me in directly for auditions.

Good luck!
