and can easily walk away from nicer guys??? Most of my female friends do not want to move on if a guy is a jerk to them. But when they break up with a guy who treated them well,,,, their attitude tends to be like Oh well,,, it;s not the end of the world!!!

Not all women are that way, neither are all men. There are always People from both genders that share the same sentiment as your female friends that seems to be co-dependent to guys who treat them poorly and that goes for Men as well.
Personally speaking, I get over jerks very easily, at a drop of a hat. I would take a nice guy over a jerk who treats me poorly, any time.

I think it's because women want to be needed, and they think they can make a real difference in a guy's life sometimes, when he is difficult...I think women also commit more naturally, and they stick it out longer with men who are wrong for them, and then have the emotional price to pay.
It's hard to dismiss the cultural cues that tell us we're supposed to be "angels." That may sound like a cop-out, but how many movies have you seen where the man and woman meet, don't like each other, and then eventually he eventually reveals his sweet side? Being the woman who gets through to a man is a fantasy we've been encouraged to indulge in, imo.
Trying to tame the wild bachelor is a challenge, but most women eventually learn their lesson. I would ask you, why do men fawn all over bitchy princesses sometimes? As much as women can be doormats, men can be doormats too. I have a lot of sympathy for truly nice guys, but sometimes "the nice guy" just has bad taste in women. It goes both ways.
I found my way out of this cycle when I finally met someone who truly loved me and was considerate. He is an ultimate nice guy and since I've been with him, I've never looked back. I will always be grateful because I feel like he taught me the difference between someone who really cares and someone who is just charming you with no intention of actually being intimate with you (other than sex).

Both men and women are like this.
It's a matter of pursuit. If you're pursuing someone, you probably idealize them (why pursue otherwise?), and probably treat them disproportionately well. But when WE are pursued, WE are idealized, WE are treated really well, and we take it for granted. In fact, sometimes it's hard to reciprocate the feelings of someone who thinks the world of you. It's easier to distance yourself from someone like that, because the person is safely yours.
When you're doing the pursuing, getting over them is almost never-ending. The people who are treated poorly are nearly always the pursuers. What they're pursuing is better treatment. When it never comes, one is slow to move on.

This is a strange situation which does happen to most women.
Perhaps it's the excitement that surrounds guys who treat women incorrectly.
Maybe nice guys are not challenging enough.

Don't listen to these women.. your 100% right. I see it all the time! The reason is because the jerk makes them work while the nice guy makes it easy. So its harder to walk away from something you put so much work into vs. something that came easy.
Its true for men too. All my Ex's that were nice.. I dumped them and felt nothing. The one bitchy girl I dated broke my heart..
EDIT: Women who read my answer.. this is not a justification for going out there and being bitches to men!! Don't do it.

your example was a woman that dates a jerk and they have a cow and if she dates a good guy she is oh well
its a funny thing for some reason (for men and women) you feel like you never had the ones that was jerks and you feel like you did everything to "catch" this person but you couldnt
and with nice girls and nice guys you feel you did "catch" them
its weird the human mating system

I think women are sweeter and linger in hope; I think sometimes they must work through many more feelings even after knowing the truth. It's very good to grieve. A woman who loses all her kids is the only one quite taken-up. A normal soul will feel sweetness and pain and find some peace. Don't pressure the friends to your standard.

This did happen with my ex. He did not really call me, buy stuff for me, or really gave me attention and I was really in love that I didn't see it. I even dumped my boyfriend before him that did gave me all that and he even waited me to marry him and he would call me at all hours. I'm human and I have made plenty of mistakes but this one I cannot ever repeat. This did happen all this year too and I think karma got me back so good that I'm single and don't have either or nobody else. I have tried to get back with the other one but he tells me its to late and he found someone else. Because with the "nice guy" the woman is normally the one who walked away but with the "jerk" she was the one that got dumped.
