I know this won't answer your question, but I honestly don't. I went to a Christian school for a few years, and the whole time, I would just question how certain things could be that God and Jesus supposedly did. Too many things didn't line up, for instance, how is it that God created the earth only a few thousand years ago, and there is proof that dinosaurs died several million years ago. Also, if all the religions say that theirs is real, someone is lying. They can't all be right, but the could all be wrong! I am mostly non-religious except when it comes to ghosts. They confuse me. lol = ]
p.s just a question, no offense to anyone, but why does He need so much money? = ]

To me, it all breaks down to this one simple dilemma. There is a universe all around us. Physicists and Mathematicians can proove on paper that there are even other dimentions beside this one, perhaps ten or so. The question is, where did it all come from?
This brings us to the dilemma. There are only two possible answers. Either someone created it or it created itself. Either it allways was and allways will be (which seems unlikely) or it was created by some being that allways was and allways will be (equally unlikely).
So, which do you choose? Why do you choose it? Well, the answer to these questions say more about the person who answers them then about anything else.
People like me, believe in a Creator. I choose this because it just seems to make more sense to me. It is much harder for me to believe that there is not methodology or purpose to anything yet we managed to achieve a degree of self-realization that really serves little purpose as an evolutionary simple survival tool.
It comforts me to believe that there is an ultimate answer that I will learn someday. It comforts me that there are moral absolutes and an ultimate judgement for the lives we choose to lead.
Others feel a need to believe there is no Creator. Why? You will have to ask them but I think they have a problem with moral absolutism and would rather accept moral relativism. If there is no Creator, there are not moral absolutes. If there are no moral absolutes then they are free to do pretty much whatever they want without consequence.

I believe in God....Why? Because, things in this world are too complicated to be, just by chance. Take life in general, how it begins and how an eggs forms into a person, complete with a personality and individaul likes, dislikes and talents. I can not even begin to comprehend how this world works; how even the human body works. Someone greater then us HAD to create us! Each time I look at my life, I can see that God exists. I have 4 beautiful children. The sun, moon and stars cause me to believe in God.
I believe that most anciant cultures were more excepting of the fact that the Earth and our lives are too complicated to have all happened by chance. The more knowledge that we gain, the more we want to know and find an explaination for.
Believing in God requires faith and having faith means we need to let go of the "need to know everything" mindset. We need to let go of the want to be able to explain and control all that we know.
Believing in God is simply accepting Him and not trying to explain it all. Believing in God requires us to give up control!

I belive in God, because I experienced something strange. I was at a church while I was at an Indian Boarding school in Anadarko, Oklahoma. I was always taught to be respectful when others prayed, so I bowed my head when the preacher prayed. I spoke to the Lord my worries, and hopes. I never thought I would actually hear anything back. In my heart I felt God speak to me. He asked me to basically accept him, but not in actual words. I understood what Jesus said, but it was like he wasn't speaking with words. I was 12, and that was when I really belived. It was so cool! That sounds so corny, I know. But you have got to believe somewhat in God, before you can really understand what I mean. I dont use the Lord to explain what I can't. Disease is Disease. Death is Death. We should believe in God to help is through horrible things like that. Hope my Opinion doesn't offend anyone. Trust me, I am no religious fanatic. Just a believer Who live life as a normal young person.

I don't believe in god.
I think about it a lot. But, believing in god has never worked for me. I was happiest as an atheist. So, I'm going back to that belief.
I do think man invented god to explain what he did not understand.
I find no comfort in the bible or the christian belief system. I find it more comforting to think we are here because of nature. No ill will. Just nature doing it's thing. It's a beautiful world and when bad things happen. Such as tsunamis. It makes me feel better to think that we do our best to survive but you can't control nature. It just is.
As for people. I do the best I can to be good to others. But, I see no point in eternal punishment for bad people. I think life is plenty good or bad enough depending on what you make it. Heaven or hell on earth is what I believe.

No i dont. But I'm Agnostic. I believe its impossible to know the truth in matters such as God. But i do do believe there is something just im not sure. I feel i dont believe because we study religion at my school, and the bible is contradictory to so many of its ideas. Also parts of it were written a long time after it was done, just on the word of a person? How do you know there not lying. I know its on faith but i have to pretty much see something or have substantial evidence to truly believe it.

I define myself as an optimistic agnostic. Basically i hope that some form of a divine entity exists, but do not believe there is any tangible proof. The main reason i believe this is because whenever i get into deep *@#!, i find myself praying to god just for the hell of it. And wouldn't it be nice if whenever you prayed, someone was actually listening? anyways, u asked, and there's my answer.

I know I'm gonna get a lot of "thumbs down" but I actually do not believe in god. I was raised to be Christian. My family even owns a church and my grandfather is the pastor. But as I grew older, the stuff in the bible did not capture my attention or make ANY sense. Sorry, no offense to anyone.

I believe in God because I believe in him through faith and also a lot of what's going on in the bible really makes sense to why things are going on in this world for what happened in the past, present, and the future.
