However you see the moon on any given day is the way everybody else sees it, only at different times. Suppose you see the moon, half lit, high in the southern sky at sunset. At that same moment, people 5000 miles to your east see the moon setting and it is midnight for them. But six hours ago, they saw it just as you're seeing it. The only difference is that people in the southern hemisphere will see the moon toward the north.
The moon and the sun rise and set every day, but the moon falls a few degrees farther back every day because that is the direction IT is revolving around the earth. So remember, whatever the moon looks like to you, it looks just about exactly the same to everybody else (in your north or south hemisphere), but at earlier or later times than yours.

OK, - Simple as I can make it:
The moon moves around the earth.
The earth spins around its axis.
The moon can be seen from the side of the earth
that it happens to be on when sunlight reflects off it, and the sky is not bright enough to mask it.
If you see the moon overhead, the people on the other side of the earth will not see it till the earth turns so that it's overhead for them.
At that point, you won't see it.

I will use small words, so hear me good:
Moon is there, day or night. We see Moon when Light of Sun bounce off Moon to our eyes. Moon seen when Sun is not too bright. When Sun is too bright, we can not see Moon. Moon is still there.
Moon is not seen: When Moon is not seen, is not your fault. Is just Moon. Big joke, Moon. Ha ha.
Ah well, is just Moon. Get used to it.

When we see the moon in the daytime, the people on the other side of the world don't see it (its on "our" side of the Earth).
When we can't see the moon in the daytime, then its on "their" side of the Earth and people there see it in their night sky.
