Hpw do you feel when you call somebody by the wrong name?

I feel surprised that it isnt their name. I called a girl Katie for a year before she told me her name's Christina, then I tried to convince her that her name's Katie. I have such poor listening skills.

I feel really bad because I don't want people to think that I think their not important enough for me to remember their name. I usually tell people I am bad with names when I first meet them so when I call them the wrong name they don't feel as bad.

I feel like lying down and covering myself with sand for the rest of the day.
"Where's Anthony?"
"He's on the beach. He called somebody by the wrong name so he buried himself in the sand for the rest of the day."
"What beach? There's no beach around here!"

Slightly embarassed, but then I apologize and move on. Normally when you miscall someone, you generally remember their name the next time. So I just move on and make a mental note. We're all human and we make mistakes.

pretty darn dumb ,i feel for the other person (she doesn't even care to know my name ) or some times i wont remember them at all that's a BIG L on my forehead

I was calling one lady Marie for 2yrs and she finally told me her name was Ann, boy did I feel like an Idiot

A little annoyed. But, I am used to it because it happens ALL the time.

I feel hurt, haha, not really.
It doesn't bother me,
but usually(sadly) it's my mom
who calls me by the wrong name,
she'll call me Lucy(my dog's name..)
and then we'll laugh, and I'll
make fun of her.
It doesn't hurt my feelings,
if that's what you meant.
