What is your opinion on gigantic sunglasses?

Question

All these girls these days are wearing the enormous sunnies, I personally don't wear them because I don't change my style with every new trend. My husband says he could never be attracted to a girl stupid enough to wear those glasses, I think they look okay on some but am annoyed when people wear silly things just because everyone else is (for example wearing a belt just below their boobies when it has no function) What do you all think?

He is 22 so not old, he just really doesn't like people if he thinks they are stupid

Hey, it's fun. However you dress, it's about making yourself feel good, happy, sophisticated or whatever you feel like feeling. Dressing can be transforming, it can create a role for you to play, it can alter your mood, it can alter the moods of people around you. It can attract attention. It can offend. It can make a statement.

The most profound thing about big sunglasses, or boas, or minis, or whatever, isn't the way they look, it's the way they feel. It's about empowerment and excitement. It's charging the batteries. Do what makes you feel great.

If hubby uses a dress code to identify intelligence, then does he know someone's character from their permanent wave? I've heard of this: I think it's called hair-voyance. The most judgmental person I ever knew wore a wife beater and scratched himself all while passing style judgments! It was as if the loose flakes of skin went right from his fingernails into his brain.

Really oversized sunglasses look ridiculous on anyone. But I am one of those girls that wears big sunglasses because they are the only ones that look good on my face shape.

Amen sister, I agree with you 110%, so does my hubby! I believe that many people, especially young girls are wearing them simply because they see them on all the young celebs right now. As you stated, just because something is trendy, doesn't mean everyone should jump on the bandwagon. Most people do look completley ridiculous in them.

i agree with you on not following trends so much! props to you! i think those sunglasses look stupid personally. every girl i see wearing them just makes me think of them as a paris hilton wannabe. and the belt thing...lets not even go there. "chic" but "trendy", the way they do it just looks flat out ugly.

Omg. I love giant sunglasses. They make you look glamourous and feminine. I own like a bunch of pairs. And really, it depends how old your husband is. Because older people like more less fashionable things. Well most of the ones I meet anyway.

it sounds to me that you and your husband are boring plain janes who are clueless about style. style and trendy are not the same. style is the message that you want to send to the world. big sunglasses are not anything new but reinvented. i think they are glamourous. also big belts have a touch of style as well. you guys need a style consultant, if you are interested contact me for services.....

i like big sunglasses but dont wear them cause i havent really found any that dont take over my whole head...but they dont make u look stupid at all and belts under your boobs are cute.

for me, i have to wear them. I have the face shape that looks good for them. I cant wear small,or medium. it has to be a larger frame. so its essential. the belt thing, gross. just wear a nice dress with a ribbon cinched there!

I personally think that they are very fashionable and cute. They look better with more narrow faces though, but they do slim down more wide faces too. I love them and think that they are really cute!
