Can them? Give away? A veggie stand? Don't pick, let them go back to nature?

I'll bet your city has a Second Harvest. They take food that otherwise would be wasted and feed the poor. Look in the white pages of your phone book.

We share our abundance with the older people in our church because we know they can't grow them anymore and they just love them.

Online there is a yahoo group called Freecycle and often there are people that will give their fruit etc. to anyone who is willing to come and pick it.

Call the Salvation Army and ask if they would like your extras.

You could also can the fruit, make jam or jelly, freeze some. There are directions online for all of these.

Please don't let it spoil and be wasted. Thanks for asking for ideas. Hope you take some of the suggestions.

You could do any of the things you mention but....I would give them away. Call a Homeless Shelter or a Food Pantry in you area to see if they could use them. I quite sure your neighbors would appreciate some fresh veggies.

I freeze some, can some, make some into salsa, use them in every day cooking, give some away to neighbors and coworkers, and sometimes throw tomatoes for the dogs to chase ;)

give them away to neighbors...then I freeze the rest. so far I have done 4 dozen ears of corn, 9 quart size bags of broccoli, 4 bags of cauliflower, 6 bags of homemade salsa (I use it in my chilli in the winter) and 6 bags of diced tomatoes... and 3 bags of diced green peppers. I am patiently waiting for my brussel sprouts and carrots. and I am also drying out dill, parsely, sage, oregano, lemon thyme, chives and rosemary. the way prices in the grocery store have been going up so far this year, I am glad I have my garden!

I can and freeze as much as I can and sell or give away the rest, if you don't pick them, you will have all kinds of seeds sprouting next year and your plants will go dormant and stop producing

I gave cukes away like mad, ate sandwiches, and made pickles. With the tomatoes I am freezing them, giving them away, and eating sandwiches. I guess it depends on the veggie and your neighbors! LOL

give them away - to me! I love tomatoes! specially from the garden. - but for real, you can put them in the fridge and that will help them from spoiling so quickly. Also, someone told me you can wrap them in newspaper and store them somewhere dry and they will keep longer
