Who will you rather have in their prime on your team.Scottie Pippen or Kobe Bryant.I choose pippen cos he's a great all-round player in the mould of Lebron James.Whilst Kobe is simply all about scoring and doesn't make his team-mate better.

Love the new Ko-ME nickname you gave KB24 VR. I think I'll use that to replace Baby Kryant. On a serious note, I'd say it depends on the type of team you have currently and who you are planning to add. If you have a team with power guards like D-Wade, Arenas, A.I., Baron, Joe Johnson then adding a versatile point forward like Pippen makes more sense because his unselfishness and all-around performance will elevate the team's overall level of play like how Chicago managed to make it work back during their championship run.

If I had a team that featured a great big men (Shaq, Duncan, Dwight Howard) or a versatile forward (Odom, Lewis, LeBron, or Grant Hill in his prime) then I would rather have a great scorer like Kobe to cause havoc all over the court while the 2nd go-to player can either chip in paint production, 3-point threat, or play making duties.

It's not a good idea to have 2 of the same type of players on the same team because you don't really fill multiple needs but you do inflate at least one of them. Look at how much success Washington had with MJ and Rip vying for the same shooting guard duties. Seattle had little success (except the year they made the playoffs) with their 2 best players (Allen & Lewis) being perimeter oriented and making their living off the 3-point shot. That is also why the Sonics let Lewis walk to avoid potential long-term conflicts since Durant plays the same position. There is no right or wrong answer to your question. It just depends on what type of team structure you're trying assemble.

Kobe is truely the better player. OK Scottie shot 49% 22pts 8.7 rebs, 5.6 assists, 2.9 steals , and .8 blks a game. There was also a big whole to fill on his team that year and I congragulate him for stepping up a little. Last year Kobe shot 46% 31pts, 5.7 rebs, 5.4 asts, 1.4 stls and .5 blks. Blk and assists here are negliatable. So if you want to belive that the three rebounds and steal and half a game make Pippen better well have a great day but please remember that the Bulls always had problems in the Center department(the position that usually rebounds) and depended on their other positions , especially after losing Micheal who would pull down six himself as a guard-thats huge. The burden had to fall somewhere. All Im saying is if Kobe had to go and get 8 boards he would-IN FACT HE DID THIS 18 TIMES LAST SEASON AND STOLE THE BALL 3 OR MORE TIMES 15 TIMES. Not bad for someone who doesnt make his team better. The simple fact is the Lakers are a better rebounding team and need him to score so he focuses more on that but he has the whole package.
The truth about Scottie is he is Overrated. Im sorry, you want to exclude his Portland years-when the Veteranship was supposed to come out. That was the Real Scottie. You may lose a step when you get older however all the greats would play at a high level making it to conference finals or finals.Magic, Bird, Isiah,Hakeem,Robinson, Stockton,Drexler ect-they all played at high levels until they called it quits. He was just missing that special something.

this makes no sense at all the only reason Pippin was good was because he had michael . mj would get doubled team or Triple teamed so scottie was all open for the shot. i still cant believe ur actually comparing pippen to kobe kobe was the best player in the league (and still is) when shaq left. while pippen fell apart with out michael. kobes ppg went to the 30s while pippens remaind the same and dropped also any one can beat anyone in one on one if ur lucky. and kobe played well against michael in his prime when kobe was 18 and19 kobe by far is better.

There is not really an answer to this one. If you were to ask me it would be all about the supporting players. If I had a team that is rebuilding with not yet much talent I would choose Kobe Bryant. If you already have Michael Jordan as Scottie Pippen did I would rather take him. We never knew how good Scottie Pippen was by himself with Michael Jordan the whole time except a year or two. So it's all about the supporting players.

Scottie Pippen was more of a team player but I got to give it up to Kobe cause he stepped up this year and hes better than Scottie Pippen as a single player.

Pippen

Pippen for me is the better all-around player. He can score, rebound, assist, play defense (in fact he is one of the best perimeter defensive NBA player ever, he can guard players from 1 to 4, from point guard to power forward) and orchestrating play, he is one of the best 'point forward' ever (the other is Grant Hill).

While Kobe is the better offensive player, is also a versatile player that can play 3-positions, a good defensive player (Pippen is just a step ahead defensively).

Therefore, I'll take Scottie in my team.

I'd pick Pippen if the team already has a superstar. HE's a perfect compliment to any superstar because he don't take the spotlight for himself and is much content playing on the shadows of another great superstar.

Additional: Let's talk stats now: Pippen is a player that can take his game in a higher dimension when needed to. Look at the way he carried Chicago back in 1994. They made the play-offs with him as their main man, even making it to the Conference Semi-finals before losing in seven games to the Knicks, leading the Bulls in scoring, assists, and the entire league in steals, averaging 22.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.9 steals, 0.9 three-pointers, and 0.8 blocks per game, while shooting 49.1% from the field and a career-best 32% from the three-point line. For his efforts, he earned the first of three straight All-NBA First Team nods, and finished third in the MVP voting.

I'll take Pippen - Ko-ME is the better player but much more selfish and really only concerned with his own success. Pippen was satisfied to win and be second banana to MJ - Ko-ME runs off Shaq. I'll take rings over big scoring records and an ego maniac like Ko-ME
