No.
14d-7+10-15d=2d
14d-15d-2d=7-10
-3d=-3
d=1

let's check it

plug 3 back for d

7(2*3 - 1) + 5(2 - 3*3) = 2*3
7(5) + 5(-7) = 6
35 - 35 = 6
0 = 6

0 is not equal to 6 so 3 is not the answer

7(2d-1)+5(2-3d)=2d

distribubute
14d - 7 + 10 - 15d = 2d

combine like terms
-d + 3 = 2d

add d for both sides
3 = 3d

divide 3 for both sides
d = 1

Actually, the answer is 1. To explain step by step ...

7(2d-1)+5(2-3d)=2d
First thing you do. Distributive property.
7(2d-1) becomes 14d-7
5(2-3d) becomes 10-15d
your new equation:
(14d-7) + (10-15d)=2d
combine the like terms, which is 14d-15d.
that now is -d.
now do -7+10, which is 3.
new equation:

-d+3=2d

add the -d on both sides to cancel it out.
now it's:
3=3d
divide both sides by 3.
1=d or d=1
that's your final answer! hope this helped :]

Let's see.

7*2d=14d
7*-1=7
so the first part of the equation is 14d-7...hold that thought.

5*2=10
5*-3d=-15d
the second part of the equation is 10-15d

so far we have...

14d - 7 + 10 - 15d = 2d right?

adding up like values, we get
14d - 15d -7 + 10 = 2d
so.....

-1d + 3 = 2d.

adding 1d to both sides gives us

3 = 3d

divide each side by 3 gives us

1 = d

and there's your answer!

No. 14d - 7 + 10 - 15d = 2d; 3 = 3d; d = 1.

starting with

7(2d-1)+5(2-3d)=2d

let's expand everything to

14d - 7 + 10 - 15d = 2d

adding like terms yields
-d + 3 = 2d

adding d to both sides yields
3 = 3d

divide by 3 gives
d = 1

You can answer your question by substituting d=3 into the left and right expressions:
7(2x3-1)+5(2-3x3) gives
7x(6-1)+5(2-6) = 7x5+5x(-4) = 35-20 = 15
and 2x3 gives 6.
Since 15 =/= 6, thus d should not be 3.

The above is called checking/validating your answer. This can be done when you are solving equations. Doing so does not directly earn you marks, but it allow you to learn and make corrections early, which indirectly prevent losing of many marks.

Next, you should figure out your mistake, and understand your mistake and the correction. Doing so allow you to learn, which is the primary purpose of going to school. Getting the right answer is not the eventual goal.

No the answer is d=1

First you need to distribute....

14d -7 + 10 - 15d = 2d

combine terms on left...

-1d +3 = 2d

add 1d to both sides...

3 = 3d

finally divide by 3..

so....

1=d
