That isn't even a fair question.

Arlington, Ft. Worth, Dallas, pretty flat, more conservative, very good shopping, not as many young people per ca pita. The winter is a little colder not much. Dallas has great shopping.

Amarillo, too far from anything cool. That's way away from San Antonio, Austin, Dallas.

Lubbock. Flat, windy, I'd kill myself. Unless I was going to Texas Tech.

Midland. Bush country big time. How much do you like cacti?

El Paso, don't drive too slow in some parts of El Paso. Don't consider it.

Waco, boring. Baylor just allowed dancing at the University like 10 years ago. Drinking laws are nuts.

Corpus. pristine...much of the area beaches are like the explorers found it. slow economy.

Houston. to me Houston would be like living in Detroit or something...nothing but big city crap. Houston was voted the fattest city in America.

San Antonio. snoozville if you ask me. Good traffic, but that's because no one wants to live there. Know Spanish will help you there. That means better tex mex!

Austin... young, energetic, natural beauty, progressive people that want to keep it that way. cheap. not the cheapest in Texas, but by U.S. standards it is easy living. Your shopping may be limited to Nordstrom and a few new stores, that's it. traffic is a little nasty at times, but if you live near a toll road, it's a breeze. Lots of chill people here, lots of jobs.

lake travis, town lake, barton springs, zilker park, UT, 6th street, warehouse disctrict...my fingers are getting tired.

I have lived and currently enjoy living in the North Dallas Suburb area. I currently live in Plano, Texas which is a suburb about 10 miles north of Dallas. I would also recommend Ft. Worth, McKinney, Allen, Carrollton, Austin, Round Rock, Midland/Odessa, Richardson, Sachse, Wylie I am not too big of fan of Houston because of the weather and humidity. Also San Antonio and El Paso have very high crime rates and second rate schools so not your best bet. Pretty much anywhere in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex is a sure thing. There are a few places in Dallas such as Oak Cliff where you don't want to go because there is way too much crime in the area. I hope this helps

Austin, Austin, Austin...I can't say it enough.
-It's much cheaper than California
-The people are very laid back
-The city has so much to do...parks, beautiful senery, so much more
-There is nothing bad to say about Austin
-Everyone is so open minded, and doesn't mask their personality just so they can fit in. Austin has good jobs, and good home prices. People are just so cool here.

I live in Austin and I will never go back to San Antonio (where I was born)

Cities you will want to stay away from are:

-San Antonio
-Conservative, everyone is so rediculusly obsesed in the
stupid San Antonio Spurs, and no one cares about the WNBA team Silver Stars
San Antonio is run by clowns, no one cares about anything or anyone.
-San Antonio has one good side of town (North Side) and thats all. The South, East, West sides of town are full of uneducated, welfare abusive families who don't care about anything and just vandalize, sell drugs, drop out of school, don't care about anything.
-San Antonio animal control kills a disgustingly high amount of cats and dogs a week (400-500 weekly)

-Lubbock is boring, very small, and depressing. Everyone is conservative and there is nothing at all to do there. Only one grocery store, one Target, one sad depressing mall. Trust me, that's a place you WOULD NOT want to start a life. I unfortunately had to visit there for a few days.

Corpus Christi
-If you like the water then it's a pretty cool place, but there isn't much to do their either. Their downtown isn't so great, and there is a lot of run-down buildings. But, Corpus Christi is expanding, and there is some new neighborhoods popping up, with new shopping centers.

Dallas
-Dallas is a really nice place and there is a lot to do their. I really haven't explorered Dallas, but it looks nice.

I don't really know about El Paso, Waco, Amarillo, Ft. Worth or Arlington.

I'd have to say Austin. There's a motto "Keep Austin Weird". It's a fun place to live; There's more live music venues per capita than any other big-city in America. There's the a huge music festival every year and is known internationally. There is a growing market for filming movie industry. There are businesses setting up new offices constantly; It's the 3rd fastest growing metropolitan area in the country, just behind Las Vegas and Phoenix. I've lived in Dallas and Houston, and I much prefer Austin.

Austin. It has everything from a nightlife to lakes and museums. There are a variety of things to do here. The more you discover Austin the more things there are to do.
I say you should visit your top three choices. And then make your decision.
